Nice words from both TF and HD. Hope he helps FCM into ECL group stage.

I think this demonstrates the ambition of Brentford and the hard nosed attitude that we need to continue to upgrade on the playing front as personally I would have kept Luke, Emiliano and Henrik for at least one more season in the belief they can do a job for us in Premier League. One has to assume we have some interesting replacements lined up. In Luke’s case maybe the club believe Patrick already at a level to be the Number 2 but if that was the case would think we would exercise Luke’s one year option as cover and to help in training.

I think Henrik left for personal reasons and had he wanted to stay another year IMO that would have been allowed, as far as LD is
concerned I think we need someone who is going to compete with DR as number1

An absolute warrior. He will be sorely missed. He was a rock at the back for us. Sad to see him go but I understand the reasoning. I join in with the others in wishing him the best in his next step. A strong, determined, intimidating player. A true leader. And a great character on the team. Thanks to Henrik. You were absolutely immense!

Wasn't at all sure about him when he first came in. Seemed unsure of himself too and often berated himself on the pitch when he made an error. Thought we'd made a mistake forcing Colin out to bring him in. How he turned that around though! Became one of the first players on the team sheet and a real leader, also his quality on the ball went up and up. Was so good to see him really enjoying his last season at the club and I think that happy, positive attitude rubbed off on the rest of the squad and was a big reason for us making it in the end.. Good luck at FCM Henrik!

Colin had a release clause didn't he? I agree I think Henrik definitely improved with us which is rare in an older player. Leaves a legend.

Is Henrik our record appearance holder in tier 2 of English football? I can’t think of anyone else in modern times who has played more championship games for the club.

Scored twice at the City ground but never scored at GP. Funny old game ain't it.

I don't recall us forcing Colin anywhere.

I used to stand at the corner of Ealing Road near the family section so I had a good view of Colin for half of every match. I thought he was first class. He rarely got beaten, and his distribution was simple and accurate. I was disappointed when he went, and I reckon he made a bad move, but he may not have had much choice.

I thought it was the other way round - a right back who often moved up front with excellent results.
It was a long time ago, but as I remember he was signed as a Centre Forward from Guildford (Southern League). Also seem to recall he got lots of stick.
