Attention moderators, Simon Chase has been hacking accounts again. We need a new song. I've never liked Hey Jude. There I've said it and l reckon the silent majority are with me. Too tricky to sing.
We should replace it with' I get knocked down'. Easy to sing , relevant at any time and lyrics which resonate.
P.S Give me a minute to get my tin hat on.
You really wish we had stayed at GP ?Personally I hope we never change it, we’ve lost GP, let’s not replace Hey Jude with a 2020 upgrade too!
Not what I said is it. Losing GP is sad whichever way you look at it, I get all the reasons and had to be done. We don’t need to change Hey Jude howeverYou really wish we had stayed at GP ?
After 60 years watching the bees l am not sad that we left the old lady. The ground was good in the 60s and 70s but then ran it's course.Re Hey Jude IMO it has little in it other than a timid warbling waiting for two bursts of N.A. N.A. N.A. N.A. Hey Jude. Not what I said is it. Losing GP is sad whichever way you look at it, I get all the reasons and had to be done. We don’t need to change Hey Jude however
Really ? You haven’t been to many away games thenSurely this is the time with moving to our new home, for a new song to be composed that will be not only be played before the game starts.
Can't ever recall Hey Jude being sung during a game.
Eh?!?!Surely this is the time with moving to our new home, for a new song to be composed that will be not only be played before the game starts.

Replace Hey Jude with Chumbawumba? Jesus wept...We need a new song. I've never liked Hey Jude. There I've said it and l reckon the silent majority are with me. Too tricky to sing.

At my age I can confidently say that as far as my time line extends it is a relatively recent addition to the Brentford experience.Hey Jude is our song and tradition should be respected. I believe in many ways a lot of fans , myself included , didn’t want to leave GP but we understand the need for changing our stadium and that the new one can’t be our own ground with signs and seats that show our colours , we also accepted doing away with developing our own players via our academy as that didn’t make commercial sense and that we need to sell our best players each season even if they have only been with us to enjoy for a short while but enough . Hey Jude is the BFC song
Others with far better memories that me well confirm when and maybe why Hey Jude became our song. I started going to the Royal Oak way back and this song joined me some years later but I can assure you it didn’t commence recentlyAt my age I can confidently say that as far as my time line extends it is a relatively recent addition to the Brentford experience.
Yep, The Power Game and Popcorn were certainly used in the 60's and 70 's.At my age I can confidently say that as far as my time line extends it is a relatively recent addition to the Brentford experience.
Really?! Cant have done many games over the yearsSurely this is the time with moving to our new home, for a new song to be composed that will be not only be played before the game starts.

This was explained by Peter Gilham. He played the song, “Hey Jude”, for a very close friend of his in the early 1970’s. It struck a chord with the supporters and in stuck.Others with far better memories that me well confirm when and maybe why Hey Jude became our song. It’s been around GP since the 1970’s!!At my age I can confidently say that as far as my time line extends it is a relatively recent addition to the Brentford experience.
What are you talking about man ??? It’s been sung on the terraces since the 70s.....If you’re going to comment on something at least have SOME knowledge of the flamin subject....thanksAt my age I can confidently say that as far as my time line extends it is a relatively recent addition to the Brentford experience.
Agree, the version played at GP is cheesy and makes me cringe. It winds down into club singer territory just as the atmosphere should be highest. Simple fix tooWe should def keep it but not the god awful live Paul Mcartney version. Get back to the Beatles original.....
Problem is I go back to 1952 that's about 20 odd years with other songs/music, and it is a useless football song! I know when it started, why it started, and who sings it and where he comes from. I am not sure what else I should know or are you just being rude! What are you talking about man ??? But you didn’t know it’s been sung at GP since the 70s ? That’s my point not what band sung itProblem is I go back to 1952 that's about 20 odd years with other songs/music, and it is a useless football song! I think it should be banned! I don't like the use of the word Fool one bit. As I sit here typing I'm getting rather angry on behalf of all fools.....!!! Unless of course they can make a new inclusive version.....But you didn’t know it’s been sung at GP since the 70s ? That’s my point not what band sung it![]()
Well I did, because I was there! I have been there since forever, indeed it occurred to me earlier today that when I first went on my own to Griffin Park I would have been about 9, and there would have been some in the crowd, in their late 70's who had watched the Bees playing at Bens Field. Not sure what that has to do with your post, but I suppose I am trying to find a nice way to say that as to when the song started, is to me unimportant, as in my opinion the song is crap, it is difficult to sing, difficult to play on a piano, it fails to rouse anyone to excitement, or strike fear into opponents, all round it is a useless football song. No doubt it is important to some, and it is part of the club, but whilst the club is important to me that song certainly is not. If given the opportunity to vote on a song for the team to run out to, which I will not be, I would vote for a change. That then is my opinion, clearly it is not yours so we differ on the matter. But you didn’t know it’s been sung at GP since the 70s ? That’s my point not what band sung it![]()

TBF the song wasn't released till 1968, so there's part of the explanation to your lack of memory.Problem is I go back to 1952 that's about 20 odd years with other songs/music, and it is a useless football song! I know when it started, why it started, and who sings it and where he comes from. I am not sure what else I should know or are you just being rude!
need to hand out song sheets................
Really?Too tricky to sing.
Someone suggested on Twitter that we should all hold our scarves aloft when singing it.
I must admit the sight of everybody leaving their seats to stand with their scarves or arms in the air would certainly pump up the atmosphere, be visually amazing and inspiring.
If we were to do this, it is likely tgat more people will join in, inhibitions will be lost leading to the Braemar and New Road being more vocal during the game
Total sh*t song, ridiculous idea. Can you imagine suddenly changing our Anthem to some nothing 90's song that nobody has ever sung before. We need a new song. I've never liked Hey Jude. There I've said it and l reckon the silent majority are with me. Too tricky to sing.

Nobody sings Hey Jude or hadn't you noticed. If you are among the singers it sounds louder.I don't think l' ve ever heard the ground sing it in unison. In fact only one part. Says it all. Hey Jude is a great song but not for football.Total sh*t song, ridiculous idea. Can you imagine suddenly changing our Anthem to some nothing 90's song that nobody has ever sung before.
Really?
[/QUYup all that better better stuff followed by a wail. I call that tricky.nOTE]
Only Aquascutum.Does anyone actually wear scarves anymore?
Well that's that then! Conclusive proof that it shouldn't be played at football matchesdifficult to play on a piano
.............silk and paisley............Does anyone actually wear scarves anymore?
