Brentford taking over The Brickmakers pub by the ground after the match. Guess our reputation preceed us as there was no Hull in there whatsoever.

The truly ridiculous light show before the game and after the goals. Button's excellent penalty save and the banter with the Hull fans (their chant of 'your so southern you're practically French gave me a chuckle!)

Great pub that. The walk from the Whalebone to Zachariah Pearson Wetherspons was very much on the get beaten up track

Jesus. You did Bev Road? We started in the Haworth Arms near the Uni and visited hostelries down Newland and Princes Ave.

Full list

Horse and Jockey, Selston
Chequers Inn, Beverley
Hed On, Headon

Whalebone
Zachariah Pearson
Larkins
Pave
Polar Bear
(Match)
Furley & co
Olde White Harte

Had to take it steady due to 0630 drive home. Good mix of pubs and very decent beer though a bit too much walking involved. Appreciated the beer guide, will definitely be back.

Apologies for being off topic.

Was quite impressed with hull as a city generally, first time there. Plenty of decent proper pubs, main bit was nice to walk round. A few  areas, but overall a decent place.

Great trek but definitely a way to walk off all the beer calories!

It will be a lot better still when the city centre works and Fruit Market regeneration is complete.

Cab driver I had taking me to Pave said that they're going to miss completing the City Of Culture work by a mile

Some will be ready (paving works etc) and some will over run but it's the "legacy" that's important. From 2017 onwards it will be a better city to live and work in.

Judging by the post-match interviews, Hull City must be sponsored by the local plasterer.

The Old Town is arguably the best drinking area away from Kelham Island, Sheffield, for us ale heads................... 6 pubs, 40 metres (max) apart

HEAVEN!

And most likely a few more to come. Camerons brewery from Hartlepool are opening a "Head of Steam" pub on Trinity Square opposite the main church later this year.

Incidentally, Holy Trinity church has been the location for the increasingly popular Hull Real Ale Festival. This year's event took place last weekend and the venue makes it a bit special.

Hoping they fail in the playoffs, before Tuesday I wanted rid of them....................despite doing Boothferry and cricket at the circle (where KC now stands) I'd not done the old town before. Impressed!

Cameron's 'Strong Arm' is one of the most awful beers I've had, I avoid them like the plague.

If they stay down then an away game on the Saturday when the ale festival takes place would be just tremendous.
