Looking forward to this one, unfortunately haven't been able to get any tickets for the games. Crazy time to hold the tournament though, expect most matches will be rained off although weather has been good of late. Should have played the tournament in mid July-August between the New Zealand and West Indies test series.

Anyway the nature of the tournament is such that an outsider has a big a chance as any to win the thing.

My money's on New Zealand to beat Pakistan in the final.

I don't think the Aussies or the South Africans will make the Semi Finals.

England rely too much on Flintoff and are not strong enough yet to challenge, plus their record in recent World Cup tournaments / ICC trophy series is dismal.

With teams only scheduled to play 2 matches in the qualifying round, the weather might make a farce of it, eg if Australia v NZ gets rained off and that group is decided by whoever beats USA most convincingly.

That would be a risk at any time in an English summer, but the time of year may also make the toss more even more significant than usual.

That said, I hope there are some good matches and that England at least reach the final

I've got tickets for the final, but I'm not very hopeful to see any play to be honest!

I know September so far has been glorious weather wise, but can't see the weather being great at the end of the month

Crazy really to organise a tourlament of this magnitude so late on in the year

Its a minority sport. This is the "second" World Cup. The W Indies, who are a shower at present have Bangladesh at 24/4.

Seems like the other nations have a lot of catching up to do.

I've been enjoying watching bits of games, though the interesting ones start tomorrow. All 8 group games so far have eliminated the 4 minnows, and given one big side in each group a slight upper hand if it rains this weekend.

Its officially sold out so I'd reckon its a case of ebay and/or touts on the day.

Could always go to one of those rip off ticket agencies up town as well. Whatever way though you'll pay through the nose methinks if you get some
