Good movement, gets into good positions... but really should have buried his two chances today. Just needs to get one and I think the floodgates will open.

Will be good to have Forss pushing him this season, as our striking alternatives have been a little thin these last few years. I think they could both score plenty.

fully agree, looked a lotmore lively today. Assoon as he scores one the rest will follow. I think it will be good to start Forss in the cup again but bring Toney on with half an hour to play, build his sharpness up

He's a good player, I'm encouraged. I don't see Forss being able to do the early shift like he does but a good combination to have.

Indeed. When did we last have the option of replacing a striker with another genuine striker? We have had to work our strikers to death ever since Donaldson, and been lucky that they've mostly stayed fit.

He won't need telling he should have scored a couple today. Did plenty of good things on the ball to show he will become a big asset. Getting fitter with every game.

Some good hold up play, got between the lines well. The first chance is great Goalkeeping from Hamer but should do better with 2nd one. But the goals will come.

His goals will come, we have to forget the last two seasons when we were blessed with good Centre Forward

He is a good centre forward, but one that's not up to speed just yet. His positional sense is good. He'll score loads of goals for us as will Marcus.

I remember Dennis Bergkamp didn't score in his first 8/9 games for Arsenal. I am not putting Toney in his category but he will come good. I saw some encouraging signs from him today and yes he should have scored but he seems like a player that will work harder next time round. His play was better than last week and I believe his play next weekend will be better the today.

He will score a load for us in time. Could have had 2 today and should have had at least one. However, he's in the right place at the right time, which is what you want of your no.9. I would only be concerned if he wasn't getting into those positions.

He will get fitter, faster and gel with the others. Then we can sit back and enjoy.

Not a great day in front of goal but started to get an idea of what his physicality might bring to the team. We seemed to get Bryan a bit nearer to him and you could see signs of it starting to work

He looks good. With Forss and the upcoming Mogensen we are suddenly blessed with a pipeline of number 9’s.

It's pleasing to see generally positive comments as his all round game was decent. I was expecting a less sympathetic reaction to the fact that he missed a couple of good chances today. August of last year saw the three GPG comments below about Watkins, among other critical takes. Given that Toney was bought as a striker rather than converted to one I feared there would be similarly limited patience.

1) I know he was feeding off scraps but for a big lad he spends a lot of time on the deck. Not his position at all.

2) Out of position, first touch nowhere near good enough.

3) Clearly not a striker looks helpless up top. His movement is awful. And I'm not blaming him or the club so we need to try something else as he won't score goals as a number Far better come inside from the left side cutting on his right foot. Gives us zero outlet up top. Didn't see him make one good run all game.

Needs matches at the moment - should we play him against WBA mid-week? Might get a few opportunities against a weakened WBA side saving themselves for harsh reality of the Premier league.

It's gotta be tempting, but I guess his overall fitness would be the concern. Gotta keep Marcus interested too, and especially considering his history with West Brom (a minor concern), I'd start Forss... But maybe hoping to give Toney 20mins at the end?

Two good chances, great that he got into the positions. Once one goes in a huge weight off his shoulders. Here's hoping.

Not bothered about this missed chances. That will Come.

I want him up to speed with the pressing and playing a little higher up the pitch ready to stretch the channels.

Looks very promising though.

In touch with a few Peterborough fans through Speedway. It may be sour grapes but many feel Toney will never be anything more than a useful squad player at this level

I doubt the DoF's would have signed a squad player for the sort of money we reckon he's cost us.

Very few people who know what they're talking about think this is a bad signing...

Fans do get weird about players once they've left (including our fanbase) but I fail to see how he'll be a squad player at best. Positionally he looks VERY good.

Watkins scored two in his first four league games last season. I dont see what Ivan wont at least equal that.

Lovely lay-off to Forss for the penalty last night.
His touch and link up play has been very good so far :)

Well we can’t just wait 10-15 games for our players to get up to speed again like last season. If we do that, then top 2 won’t happen and we all know what happens with Brentford in the play offs.

End of the day mate , most of us have played the game iand we all should have scored , saved, and won. In football there is always room for improvement.

Yes. The difference is that for most of us the one that got away is down to pure luck and there’s little control we really had whereas for good players they know how to improve so as to make luck less of a factor.

I've said it since the outset - he will get 20+ goals this season once he has settled in, you only have to look at the positions he got into on Sat to know he will get plenty of chances coming his way

Agreed.

forss had every right to take the pen last night as scored last game as is a CF who thinks he should be number 1 choice, but had he not been on the pitch I think it would have broken IT’s duck and got him up and running.

Won the pen and scored the pen but was feeding of scraps today, if we hadn't lost Henry early on I am sure Forss would have replaced him second half. Got his first goal and that's his job, some excellent touches too and he is still learning his game with us. Enough about him to be very positive I would say but I am sure others will disagree :D

Some excellent aerial flick-ons. More of a traditional target man we’ve had in recent years. Good performance.

Decent game against some big lumps , not forgetting his headed clearance from a Millwall corner in the second half

I reckons that Toney will absolutely smash it, once he's had a few games with Benrahma and/or Ghoddos.
Just not convinced that Canos is consistent enough if we really are after top 2.

Improving game by game. Thought he showed some nice touches, a goal is a goal whether it is a penalty or not so will do his confidence a boost. Will put money on scoring next Sunday.

In any sport when moving up a level , stepping up reaction time is crucial. That is what Ivan needs to do. Has had good chances but has been slow in thought

Expect Toney to start on Sunday and in a way I genuinely believe that Forss playing well and scoring has taken some pressure off Toney to hit the ground running. Improving game by game and competition is always good. Predict he will score on Sunday against a tough side. However, there will come a time if Forss is still smashing it in that he deserves the chance to start league games.

Having one to start and the other to come off the bench is a great prospect. Which one does which doesn't really matter if between them they smash in 30 goals!

Exactly. Let's face it we were lucky with injuries last year that Watkins played more or less every league game and was hardly substituted. Waktins deserved his move and good luck to him.

I don't think either Forss or Toney have the all around ability that Watkins has but they both have goals in them and if between them they can score the goals Watkins ended up last year we will be hovering around the top 2, especially as I am led to believe we are (almost) close to announcing a midfielder signing ...
