I see - we'll take a workmanlike Scottish midfielder but should steer clear of one of the best midfielders of his generation (on his day). :fishing:

Ok, you’ve convinced me. No basic salary, but a generous pay-per-game bonus tied to Voice’s post-match rating. Sound fair?

Alternate weeks with nick logan - he's got to get paid sometimes.

If Rangers can afford him, can't see why we can't. Plus he would get absolute lumps kicked out of him in the Scottish premier  although if he was on 100k a week at West Ham it would be a hell of a pay drop.

He's been paid off, so has plenty of money in his pocket already

Could be the answer to filling that void ever since Josh McEachran left

Not a bad idea. Bit like BUPA. We've got all the best care in place. Could be a nice little earner for us. Gonna cost him though.

Isn't he unattached so could fill a void at any time should we happen to loose a dozen or so players to injury?

I mean he's significantly better than josh mc. Feel really sorry for him, great midfielder, just plagued by bad luck on the injury front.

If he can fit in and knuckle down at a sensible cost why not? But “if” is doing a lot of work in that sentence so that is why not.

Every time anyone has offered Wilshere a new contract in the last 6-7 years I have banged my head against the wall in dismay, the guy manages 2 games every 2 years, WTF makes you think it will be different this time. If we were the next team to be completely mugged off I would be in total dismay, a 30 year old crock who has spent 50 weeks of every year injured since he was 18.

That's not entirely true though... in 2017-2018 he played 38 games across all competitions for example. At West Ham he was supposedly fit a lot of the time but not getting picked. He's also 28 not 30.

It's beginning to dawn on me that maybe this was intended as a serious thread rather than harmless, light-hearted distraction, as I had initially assumed!

I have heard some things over the years about a very suspect private life. Associated to some very questionable people.
I’d imagine we’d stay well away if true and if he still has some links.

I read that he was fit for most of last season but just wasn’t picked.

Don't ruin my post with facts. I am making a point not being accurate with my ranting 😉

Shows how far we’ve come.

Even assuming there was any grain of truth, rubbishing the possibility of such a player joining at the age he is is quite amazing to me!

Given he must be rich beyond belief and his injury record, if he loves the game as much as he professes in interviews and would be happy with a pay per game deal, then given we are a somewhat lightweight in central midfield, why not?!

Presume as a free agent the transfer deadline having passed doesn’t matter?

I’ll get my tin hat on!!
