You’ve got to admire the scouting network and how good we are at selling the Brentford model.

Welcome Jan.

What do you know about him? Attacking or defensive mid?
I will leave any really useful background to others but Transfermarkt says "Main position : Central Midfield Other position(s): Attacking Midfield"

Welcome.

For punctuation fans it's technically Žambůrek - Z with a caron, u with a kroužek, I'll let Mr Tree answer any questions on the Czech alphabet :)

it means it's pronounced with "Zh" at the start, not "Z" - so "Zham-buuur-ek" :D

Sounds like a great potential signing. I just love the ethos of the B team model

Both. The club have put loads on the official site. He’s got some rave reviews playing for his country at youth level. We’ve got some amazing talent now in the B squad. Hopefully some will really push on and break through over the next year and the one after.

sorry, just occurred to me that as the Czech correspondent, i should find some info for you... er, didn't get far, there's not much (my czech's still not that good, so i was limited). can't wow you with much, although there is a little video of Zamburek in action here: https://www.sport.cz/fotbal/synot-l...lent-brentford-vybral-po-sparte-i-slavii.html (starts slowly but gradually gets more interesting!)

otherwise, interesting to see under a couple of the articles, comments from Czechs that recognised us and respected us (rather than the mocking we seem to get at times). i daresay my wearing the shirt around Prague has had the country buzzing

I have said a few times why don’t we try it from kick off as a lot of keeper do walk out from their goal at the start of play. What’s the worse, win the ball back from clearance

He was excellent tonight against Dulwich Hamlet. He only turns 18 tomorrow and definitely looks to have first team potential.

Sounds promising - what position did he play and what were his main attributes?
He played in midfield but seemed to be omnipresent ! He has very good first touch and wasted very few passes. The goal was just reward for his efforts. My main concern is the fact that he is fairly slight. He was booked for pulling a Hamlet player back after being eased off the ball. Dulwich were a big strong team though and he coped well in the main.

He was also booked at Wingate. He’s an attacking midfielder who’s also not afraid to get stuck in.

A certainty to get an opportunity

Reminds me of Sawyers in some ways. He was one that the staff were very excited about when he signed IIRC.

Excellent, strong on the ball, with good vision and puts his foot in. Did not look out of place.

With this cameo and Kirk's game time at Swansea, it seems like the backroom team have taken a decision to throw in some of the B teamers to see how they fare. Agree with the comments on his performance, he looked assured

Looks that way, doesn't it. Spot on policy in my view. Blood them (in small numbers), see how they do, then make a decision about who else we need to recruit in the summer.

I liked what I saw of him. I know the backroom staff have high hopes for him. I also like TF strategy of bringing in B teamers into the fold and getting experience.

Thought we had put on a mascot, no 39 not even in the programme. Liked what I saw.

I struggled for 39 in my programme too. Just assumed it was a kind of Hogwarts platform number kinda thing.

It's a great approach and absolutely the right one. If one of these young lads hits the ground running like Mepham did that will save us a couple of million in transfer fees in the summer and possibly will make us another £12m in a couple of years. Games like to today are perfect as well, go 5-1 up and then bring the youngsters on.

Not in my head, no :). All I'm saying is, I think JZ will have trouble getting served in pubs for a while to come.
I like Jayzee. Is he coming to play for us now as well? My kids will be ever so pleased.
