Sheffield United have made a £3.5m bid for Reading midfielder John Swift, 25, but Leeds are also interested in the former England Under-21 international.

Was one of the few bright spots for Reading on Tuesday I thought.

Don't think he's worth that much though.

Good player. Worth the money IMO. Can he play for a new club before the end of this season? Sorry, I'm sure this must be common knowledge!

One thing that was noticeable in our game was that he seemed quite slow, he still got about the pitch and made decent passes but our midfielders did seem to breeze past him.

The only player i thought looked ok was the skinny guy on the left wing....swift is very average and I wouldn't want him back

He looks good on the idea, but seems very slow indeed. Decent championship level at best, although Wilder does get a tune out of average players.

Certainly wouldn't pay £3.5m for him.

Reading fans' website has people saying he is better than Sawyers on the basis of his scoring record. I don't think that they really understand football very well.

He's a good player and actually had a good season. £3.5M is probably the right sort of figure for someone of his age and experience . Could do well at Sheff Utd

Good old FLW, never afraid to churn out some old stories they made up in the first place.
That was all I could find too

This season he has scored 6 in 6 games but just once last season just 1 goal in 14 games. And he is now 26, and has been with Reading for too long. No more improvement to come from him now

Agree. No resell so I doubt we’re interested again.

Oh I don’t know, we could probably get £30m out of QPR in 2 years time if they go up and decide to spaff on a load of old geezers with experience again.

Injury prone since he left us? Missed a lot of last season and that’s a big loss for them. Pleased to see him getting off to a good start. A class Championship player, but not quite got ‘it’ at a higher level.

I doubt it, shame that there were a number of supporters that treated him so badly when he was here on loan. Probably would not want to return even if the opportunity presented itself.
He acted like a **** going on about getting paid whether we won and lost. This was after numerous performance where he put no effort in.

No sympathy from me.

He was a kid at the time, 17 I think, deserves some slack. No excuse for the crap he got from so called supporters. Unbelievable, from people who should know different.

20 when he was on loan at Brentford, and still no excuse. He bought it on himself.

He was 21 and acted like a ****. If you act like a **** dont be shocked if people dont like it and call you on it.

He is out of contract at the end of the season
And we signed back Canós after loaning him in the same season as Swift
Doubt any reports are true but putting a thought out there
