I said that when TF announced Pontus would play last WE ..... and then had to eat my words.
My missus is apparently the Bees expert in our bubble now :(

My wife is the expert in my house too. She says things like "why don't they score more" and "they shouldn't pass like that, they get paid enough money". Luckily, I have my own bubble when the game is on.

The last game I took mine to was when Conner Mac broke his leg. Her comment (not to the leg break) was why dont they just get the ball forward and try to score. About 30 seconds later Clayton scored. There told you so, she said. I've not brought her since.

😂

Last game I took to was Charlton v Brentford on Valentines Day. In itself that was fairly controversial....

I said to her to before the game about how much Harlee Dean had improved. Anyway, we got stuffed 3-0 and HD had a stinker (to be fair, so did everyone else). “See what you mean” she said at full time.

She’s never been back.

My wife's last game was Liverpool away. That was early '89. First was Fulham away a couple of years earlier (when Blissett got sent off for running a full 40 yards to lamp a totally unsuspecting Stannard). Her reaction to that was "why?" which I was unable to answer. Except to say that I found the whole thing very, very funny. Well, it was Christmas.

Probably as a result of not being 100%. You don't hook your best midfielder on one poor 45.
Probably not feeling right as he seemed to be playing well within himself and rarely got into the final third.

Hopefully a whole three days rest will do the trick.

Probably should not have been playing. Looked as if he had a shin injury after being savaged in that last game. Difficult man to leave out now he is so important to the team.

Too deep or too wide tonight. Needs to be involved in the middle. We do have a strange tactic for our CM's to pull wide, maybe with the idea for the wide men to cut in.

Wasnt working for him tonight.

Quality player who has improved beyond recognition to gain Under 21 caps for England. Probably needed to be rested given shin injury but for me gets my vote every time.

Shows how subjective it is when watching football. I thought he shielded the ball really well first half and was one of our better players! Hey ho. Just happy it wasn't an injury

He played fine but about 15 yards too close to our goal. I don’t think he was instructed to pkay behind Janelt so while he still demonstrated his quality it is possible that his injury just took his appetite to be further up away.

Should really have one of those shots on target. Expect better from him.

He certainly confirmed he really needs a break. To me, it seems more mental fatigue than physical, he appears to go through spells where he's playing by numbers, then stops as if he's forgotten what he's there for. Yesterday showed that we are really light in midfield, with Nørgaard and the phantom Baptiste missing it's perm any three from four and giving half a game rest to only one of the four is going to cost us.

Took a bad tackle not long before going off. Agree think he needs a rest as a sub. But who to replace him?

I thought this season was going to be huge for him. Started well and looked unstoppable but has gone missing in recent games. I would be surprised if he was still carrying a knock - I doubt TF would be risking him this early in the season.

Hopefully he discovers his early form again. We need our star players to step up.

In need of a rest, lack of energy & ideas at the moment. We need Nórgaard & Baptiste back ASAP so we can rotate in the middle. We cannot ever again have a midfield of Marcondes & Jensen together! Even if that means Dasilva playing with one leg

He’s only 22 and has played 60 games last season/ this season. For someone who is still relatively young and playing centre mid, that’s a hell of a lot of football.

Hopefully that goal gives Josh some confidence, was a cracking goal and josh from last season.
The best thing for Josh was the 67 minutes he didn't play today... his trademark goal was the icing on that cake.

He's a hell of a player. Glad for him that he could be rested today without affecting the result and, in addition, he played a valuable cameo, chipping in with a trademark goal.
