Are you Cyprus based? Assuming so, or that's some dedication to the B's 😅 I only ask I am over in December so missing a few games, I'm hoping that Cypriot TV may get more access to games other than those on Sky/BT?

Bloody annoying such short notice. I was planning to get out there within next three months and more notice could have made it work ! Gah

I wonder if during the B team ‘tour’/tournament in Cyprus somebody can look at Pafos FC’s 22 year old attacking midfielder and Finnish international Onni Valakari. He scored the ‘other’ goal in Finland’s 2-0 win over France in Paris.

I realise it is the Cyprus league but he has scored 6 from 10 games so far this season. He was born in Motherwell, so bringing him to England shouldnt be a hurdle to overcome

Even more annoying. I was in Paphos a fortnight ago. Shame this wasn't then!!!

This sounds like one of the "tours" I used to do with the football club at uni.... we didn't play an awful lot of football!

Sounds like they are performing like one of these too. I hope they didn't have a big night out before a 10am match.

Lost 5-1. NYC with a pen having missed one earlier. All part of the learning curve and good experience

They'll learn more from a thumping by a professional league team, mainly old pro's it seems, than ever from winning against a local U-23 outfit.

Yes, travelling to these tournaments and playing strong opposition was always key to the success of the B team. They’re all about learning.

All usually would be part of that group and have bags of potential between them but are absent (either through international call ups or first team involvement)

Plus Gilbert, Pressley, Oksanen are out on loan atm

The actual squad we have out there looks pretty weak? Might sound harsh but it seems like only NYC is the only serious prospect out of the lot?

How strong were the oppo?

Some familiar, older faces in there. I follow Cypriot football regularly and Pafos have never really been that strong, especially compared to the bigger teams on the island.

I'm surprised the B team took such a pounding, but maybe that's the difference between a full time professional set up and playing against lower league/U23 teams.

Pafos have Jason Puncheon in their team and I understand he played today.

Given how many players were on international duty, I'm surprised (1) the timing of the tournament starting in the international break (2) we took part .

A classic case of "we go again". They do need a good few tonkings, if only to give Farls legitimate excuse to give them a good shouting at.

To be fair looking at the highlights, he didn't need much of an excuse! Very poor defending and some iffy keeping to boot. Even with a stripped back squad we're definitely better that that. Hopefully they'll show what they can do in the next game on Wed...

No reports from the local Bees fans?
I was there. Paphos looked a real good outfit. In the old days they were always poor but they have got themselves a new owner and things are looking up for them. It was a bit Men vs Boys. Whenever we got to the final third we always stopped and looked to cross the ball. I guess they thought that if they carried on they would just get muscled off the ball.

No idea of the standard of Rodina Moscow (even after having been to see quite a lot of football in Moscow over the years) relative to English football but sounds like the 3rd goal was a charged down clearance from Rees in goal so perhaps not as representative of the balance of play?

Russian third tier. I’m not sure particularly high standard.
