Im guessing it will be on Wednesday 22nd.

Leicester, Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea all have a game on Sunday, so that should mean a Wednesday night game for them. Arsenal don’t so will play Tuesday.

I suppose it’s possible one game may be on the 23rd as no games until Boxing Day. In which case it could be us as both Chelsea and us have late games on the 26th

I wonder if TV is obliged to show one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday?

Is it 90 mins and straight to pens for every round?
Why the pessimism? Besides, do we really want to take penalties against either of their keepers? ;-) (Why the pessimism, you may now ask :))

It’s Sky so they’ll just change the rules anyway. But they can’t move the Sunday games as BT have the Thursday games the week before and they won’t move them.
anyway, we’ll get at least 1 more days rest than Chelsea!

The only game on Tues is Ars v Sun

Sky wont want that
So I expect
One Weds
One Thurs

Two obvious picks are Brentford and Liverpool

But Spurs v West Ham is also a strong pick

Chelsea
Spurs
Liverpool
all play Sunday so cant be Tues night

Am I correct in thinking we have to give them a bigger allocation than usual due to it being league cup?

Same rules I believe. FA Cup is larger however.

I suspect we’ll get chosen. Local for the Sky crew on Christmas week.
That's a myth about locality very few of the onsite team are based in Osterly. Most are freelancers

I do suspect we will get picked though.

You‘re now arguing with yourself you lunatic :)
Not about this I’m not. Leave my internal monologue out if this though.
10% - Milk Cup
15% - FA Cup sponsored by Budweiser
10% (or 3k) - Jeff Stelling’s Saudi Premiership

Not until they announce the date....
Then they need to agree the allocation with Chelsea

Then they need to agree how many sponsors and Media are given

"Confirmed" as Wed 22 Dec 19:45

No word on TV yet or if that might move the date again.

I don't think it does until the TV fixtures are announced. It could still move to Thursday IMHO.
Hope not - will be in Niedersachsen that week and have just booked flights to get back for 24hrs for the Wednesday evening...

It's possible but I doubt any of the QF's will be played the day before Christmas Eve with an already hectic schedule over the holiday period. I think Sky will be content with two live games; one each on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Well it's only Arsenal v Sunderland on Tuesday, which is probably the least attractive out of the 4. Given that this is the EFL's major money spinner they will want 2 big fixtures for overseas viewers.

So our match could still be moved to the Tuesday 21 December for TV?

True mate and as I said it's possible one will be moved to Thursday but I think it's very unlikely. The fact they've "confirmed" the days might also give a hint they'll be played over Tuesday and Wednesday; I can't see clubs being too keen to move to the 23rd December before the Christmas period.

Sky do tend to like showing lower league teams that qualify for a QF or SF plus Sunderland would have a big support base so large viewing numbers for those watching on TV. I actually thought Arsenal V Sunderland was the one guaranteed TV game when the draw was made mainly due to one being a L1 club playing a QF.

The underdog and all that?
If it had been at the Stadium of Light it would have made more sense as they would have an outside chance, but at the Emirates, the chance of an upset is pretty remote, I would have thought. I was half expecting the Liverpool game to be chosen over ours but not the Arsenal game. Hey ho.

The Spurs game I can understand, but the Arsenal one? Beats me.

Was mentioned earlier in the thread that that's the only game without a team who plays on the Sunday, so that's the only game that can be played on Tuesday. If all choices were available I highly doubt that one would have been shown.
