Yes I have paid £40 without railcard. 10:35 out arriving 11:45....same train back.

For some reason Trainsplit.com wouldn't give me a reservation on the 10:35 but I didn't realise until I had paid, Interested to know if anyone else has better luck.

Where have you read about possible engineering works? Nothing I could see on EMR website. Thank you

When you book the tickets it gives a disclaimer with a yellow exclamation mark saying Engineering works not confirmed yet.

Last year the first away game didn't go on sale until 11 days before the game, per this

Hopefully a lot longer than that this time.

Best prices I can see with EMR from Luton seems to be £5 return to Bedford (with network railcard) and £35 return to Leicester via Kettering, splitting ticket at Kettering was £45 and a straight return £48.

Couple of Luton - Leicester trains offered at £17.50 going up but all post game trains at £40+ coming back down. Any chance They may release more advance tickets if there is no engineering works planned?

Parking booked .. really cheap .. I don’t think these driveway owners have seen the fixtures yet so haven’t put up match day costs .. booked Leicester & Palace
Yep,
I booked parking for Leicester through 'Just Park' last year.
Driveway parking about a 20 min walk along the river (very pleasant) from away end entrance, at a cost of £3:69 for 4 hours.
Decent view of the ground across the river too. :)

Does this typically mean engineering works are probable or is it pretty common?

Looks like its the Luton - Kettering bit they want to charge the most for. If i further split the tickets Luton - Bedford, Bedford - Kettering (staying on the train from Luton  ) and Kettering - Leicester I can get it down to £36.35 return.

Lot of mucking about but I dont want go give the bastards a penny more than I need to.

Oy, you are on holiday in Florida - what are you doing reading the GPG at this time !

PS - problem with the boat batteries was that the battery charger was charging them at 15v + and
basicl cooked them both - does that make sense to my auto electrician super king 👍

Fingers crossed it won't change as according to their forum, they have had home games before on the day of the carnival

My daughter is home at the moment, she lives a 10 min walk from Leic’s ground, I asked her about the carnival, she’s lived up there 6 years now and said “What carnival?”
She has no idea of this fantastic event.

And surely the whole point of these behind the scenes chats with police is to ensure that clashes like this are dealt with.
Or did the meeting not get as far as (checks notes) day 1 of the whole season??

Yes, no go match days should've been flagged with the PL by the police.

EG Fulham won't be at home when the Boat Race is on

Absolutely.
Couldn't LCFC not have requested an away game for that day.

Reported up to 80,000 could be in attendance, It will be an all-day event, with a fair in Victoria Park and then a parade through the streets of Leicester from 1pm. Policing concerns and congestion in the city will be factors in why both events cannot take place at the same time, Cancel the Carnival I say!!!
