Like Waking Up On Christmas Day As A Child

For the first time in 18 months, I woke up today genuinely excited about the prospects of watching a Brentford game. As the title suggests it felt like waking up as an 8 year old on Christmas morning, getting my presents out and lining them up on the floor. Only this time I woke up with possible line ups our manager might employ and the excitement of perhaps seeing a decent spirited performance, a buoyant crowd, and hopefully 3 points.

For me, I'm not that bothered about what goes on behind the scenes at Brentford. Yes I'd prefer it if they were more professional, but all I care about really is enjoying my Saturday afternoons and having a TEAM to be proud of - something that drifted away long ago under Wally. While I understand that the product on the pitch is inextricably linked to what goes on in the boardroom - at this moment in time we have some great players and an exciting new manager - a combination to keep us in the 2nd division. We've only got to win every other game starting today.

COME ON YOU BEES. THE FUN IS BACK!!!

P.S. Good luck Martin.

P.P.S Thanks for your services Wally - you were never my cup of tea from day one - although I appreciate you did your best under difficult circumstaces.

:bound: Me too. I haven't looked forward to a Bees game as much as this one for a very long time. Let's hope that whether we stay up or not, that watching the Bees stops being a chore and returns to being fun.

I didn't realise how much Wally's methods had brought us down until now - it's like a new spring!
