My mum sadly passed away yesterday afternoon after a long illness, been going to griffin park since she was 3years old.

Some may know her from new road, she has needed oxygen for the last 2years but refused to be beaten by her problems, and even thought she has needed a wheelchair to get into the ground, still managed to walk up the steps to get into her favourite seat with us for every home game.

Her last game that she managed to get to was my 40th birthday at home to preston, what a last game to see!

She spent many years abusing the ref or linesman, griffin park will be quieter place from now on.

Rest in peace mum,

Glad she got to see the promotion to the Championship before she passed. Thanks for a lifetime of support Linda, it's folks like you that helped keep the club alive during the dark days. RIP.

So much sadness recently, and I can understand what you must be feeling - my sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of your Mum. From what you have said, she sounds like a "real" traditional Bees supporter, who saw all the difficult times, but fortunately also saw the good times in getting promoted.

RIP Linda.

Very sad news. She has joined that parallel New Road stand in the sky that is filling all to quickly for my liking. Say hello to my mum & dad please Linda. RIP.

I remember your mum clearly, used to see her in New Road every game.
I'm glad she saw the Preston promotion game.

Thankyou all for your very kind words, it just makes me realise what a great set of fans we have!

It's been a tough couple of days, and I am sure that there will be many more, going to try and see if the club will allow a few of us transfer our seats in the paddock so that we can sit in new road on Saturday in memory of my mum.

Been thinking today of how much she loved the club, was at Cambridge when we won the old 4th division, but the best memory has got to be at Scunthorpe, where she threatened the six bouncers outside the pub near the ground because they wouldn't let my little brother in the pub to go the the toilet (he was 10at the time and wearing a bees shirt) they were so scared they called the mounted police and we got a 3 car police escort out of Scunthorpe.

Sounds like a great Mum and Bees fan.

RIP Linda. The old boy up above complaining about officials, players etc in a strong Welsh accent is my grandad. There is a huge GP contingent up there nowadays! Condolences to all the family.

Could have done with her on Sat when my 8 yr old was dying for a pee at bolton pub and bouncers refused us. Such a real shame too hear of great people who loved the bees leaving us. RIP Linda
