My mum sadly passed away yesterday afternoon after a long illness, been going to griffin park since she was 3years old.
Some may know her from new road, she has needed oxygen for the last 2years but refused to be beaten by her problems, and even thought she has needed a wheelchair to get into the ground, still managed to walk up the steps to get into her favourite seat with us for every home game.
Her last game that she managed to get to was my 40th birthday at home to preston, what a last game to see!
She spent many years abusing the ref or linesman, griffin park will be quieter place from now on.
Rest in peace mum,
Been thinking today of how much she loved the club, was at Cambridge when we won the old 4th division, but the best memory has got to be at Scunthorpe, where she threatened the six bouncers outside the pub near the ground because they wouldn't let my little brother in the pub to go the the toilet (he was 10at the time and wearing a bees shirt) they were so scared they called the mounted police and we got a 3 car police escort out of Scunthorpe.
2 years and it doesn't seem to get any easier! Been a while now but please help us out the next 2friday nights mum, we may need help from above!
