When, and only when, the time is right - i.e. that Lionel Road is open at 100% capacity, will there be an official opening ceremony?

It would be good to incorporate some of the things that were planned for the GP farewell - Hard-Fi - etc and turn this into a real day of celebration.

I’m hoping Hard-Fi will get a chance to do a gig at Lionel Road as they were due to play at the Barnsley game.

Are we letting the dads plan the music the kids are getting down to? Perhaps we should let the kids plan the virus precautions in that case.

Looking forward to more details on this as part of Valencia friendly on August 7th:

Hard-Fi to headline??
Parade of Bees Legends??
Cadbury's Creme Egg for all ST holders??
Has anyone told Gilham yet that he's on the subs bench for this one? Bradley Walsh has been handed the microphone for this momentous day! 👀

Valencia? Surely the first sell out will be the week before looking at the fixtures, 31st July V West Ham the return of Said Benrahma, Who can get a long awaited round of applause for which he is due. If Moyesy picks him for it

Limited capacity for the West Ham game, probably around 12,000

Why? with all restrictions off surely by now we have got all test events in?
Because the club need to check everything is in order first from an operational point of view.

Some comms from the club on what (if anything......) is planned to commemorate the opening of LR at the Valencia game next week might help with ticket sales......
But maybe that's the problem......what is planned??

Highlight for me was the stewards coming up to the top of the west stand and asking people to sit down!

Laughed out of town they were…

Yes right near me, I assume (or hope). This was a box ticking exercise and won't be enforced.

Although to note these were Security people with SIA badges.

Not having a go but most West Ham fans stood throughout the whole game.

I was in the East stand and also noticed it, Just watch closely the crowd next time you view a PL games on TV and you will find it seems to have spread to most grounds, also very difficult to monitor and regulate, although I read in the press that some clubs are identifying ST holders and sending them warnings re standing, how true, I don't know, My son in Law lent me his Chelsea ST a couple of seasons ago for a couple of matches and I spent about 75% standing just to follow the game, Just hope it's not a trend that's going to spread to our home ground supporters. :nono:

Thought the ground was great, found myself walking up and down stairs quite a lot though to find somewhere to perch. Did find being over 6 foot that there were a number of times I had to watch my head, just like being back at GP really. Sat in my ST seats and met most of the other ST holders around me who were good eggs. Sat down for a whole 2 mins which just felt strange and won’t intend to be doing that again in the future. Glad in the west stand it’s Grolch not Carslberg.

Quite a lot of empty seats around us in WS when I finally got into the ground. I was happy to sit down for the whole game but, before I had done so, some bloke about five rows behind told me to sit down. I think he may have a tough season ahead.

Did you forget the :fishing: emoji?

If you’ve got an ST in the West Stand and want to sit down, I’m afraid you’re in the wrong stand.

I thought the club said they would enforce the sitting, all bar the rows at the back of the west stand (WSA) until safe standing is approved.

we all know easier said than done.
