I went to Anfield one night back in 2002 vs Blackburn. 4-3 Liverpool win.

WHU not selling out their ground and having spare seats is very different to our current situation.
Not for Liverpool, but Chelsea game I have been unable to get a ticket for one of my brothers, lifetime fan. Any Chelsea fan in the home end is taking away a seat from him, and I'm sure countless others. If I'm unable to get him one on the exchange, and I see a blue anywhere near us, words will not be my course of action.

I think it's the club you should be aiming your frustration at. If the system allows a Chelsea fan to buy a ticket, he or she is well within their right to do so providing they keep to themselves during the game.

That system won't change this season for reasons already mentioned on this topic but something the club can take feedback on for next season.

Me too and the earlier 2-1 defeatat Anfield in the league Cup. Iirc we scored first. We were stood on the Kop with a couple of my brothers Uni friends who were Liverpool fans. They were all at Lancaster Uni and had a trip out for the game meeting me there. I remember one going in his thick scouse accent 'I knew this would f*****g happen' when we scored first!

Yeah but I thought 50% of the remaining allocation goes to Members in a free for all which I assume they are eligible for as they are Junior Members (Bee Team) I think they go on sale at 4pm so wanted to try. I just have a sneaking suspicion that when I log on it will say I am ineligible as it will recognise I am a ST holder

No. As a ST holder you won't be allowed into to buy tickets.

I would call the box office now and ask them what you should do. But if they are too young to have an email address they are probably too young for this fixture. The seats that will be available at 4pm are very unlikely to be next to yours.

But you’re right that it’s pointless for kids who will need the seat next to yours in sold out games.

I think the issue is that ST holders would then be able to purchase an extra ticket for themselves. It's a very inflexible system.

I don't believe that anyone with any background in developing would come to that conclusion (no matter what the ticketing system). Luckily you're a lawyer and can put such accusations to the witness, however I don't think you'd extract an admission on the facts in this case.

Add all ST fan numbers to the Member database. Let all members access the site but buy only tickets for F&F if they don’t have one assigned to their fan number already. Or is coding less logical than that?

So, you've permanently comprised member data without addressing or understanding the consequences of doing so; added two conditions to the STHer flow; also you've not considered whether or not each of the F&F are STHers, members or neither. And what if the F&F has bought a ticket already?

Just to confirm in case this confuses people. The tickets on sale at 4pm are NOT the 50% allocation - these were sold weeks ago. Today is just a very limited number of additional tickets.
