It will be a miracle, big difference between playing at home and away at Anfield.. plus they'll no doubt plan for our long ball to Toney which leaves us with.. er......
If you cant enjoy being 12 points clear of the bottom 3 in the hardest league in World football i feel for you.

What long balls to toney ? , both goals against Villa were great moves. And Leeds and Watford etc etc

Thoughts on joining in with YNWA Sunday? I predict that we don't
I can’t see any justification for booing it but even less justification for singing along with it. If we can generally outsing them like Arsenal did (the irony of “is this a library?” and “where’s your famous atmosphere?” being particularly amusing) then job done both on and off the pitch.

Unless we've got a "hey jude" or "super brentford fc" going I can see the majority of our end booing. I've heard booing it really pisses Liverpool fans so that's good enough for me.

Who says it's a foregone conclusion?

The Guardian's view:

Salah’s stock rises further in his absence

Liverpool’s current run of fixtures can also be viewed as an extension of Mohamed Salah’s contract negotiations. The team made a strong case for giving Salah everything he wants by performing prosaically against 10-man Arsenal in Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Anfield. The hosts lacked sharpness and ingenuity without Salah and Sadio Mané, among others, while Salah’s ostensible deputy, Takumi Minamino, underlined the Egyptian’s importance – and the shallowness of Liverpool’s squad – by missing an open goal late on. A similar performance when they host Brentford in the league on Sunday could result in them falling even further behind in the title race.

Performance more important than result but a good performance increases chances of surprising result. 1-1 would be surprising and 0-3 to the home team more realistic. Funny old game though if the bees bounce back from the manner of the defeat on Tuesday.

I noticed watching the game last night how Arsenal fans were singing 'your support is sh*t'. Anfield really was quite for a night semi final although not sure Arsenal are the best set of fans to sing this especially when they play in a library. It did get me thinking that a 2pm kick off we need to keep their fans quiet or even get them to turn. Liverpool had their best available team out last night. So if we can keep them quite for the first 20 minutes then we may get a result (with all the luck going our way) - otherwise despite Salah and Mane missing, they still have quality and could be a tough afternoon. We need to make our set pieces count as that is one area we really do have an advantage.

My head says 3-0 Liverpool but my heart is going for a 2-2. Bryan brace.

Possibly the poor showing vs Saints might lead to a fully focused performance. Trouble is that even if we do that l can't see us getting anything. So time for Thomas to be brave and have a go at them.Stop hiding in the cupboard with the low block and have a go at them with three strikers. In football , you never know . The ball is round.

Well, if you enjoyed Southampton on Tuesday then hats off to you and your pharmacist... :sorted:

As for long balls to Toney..

Frank; " However, when you play against some of the best teams in the world you need to tweak it a bit to be pragmatic to raise your chances to win. We thought if we went a little bit more direct against Liverpool that could raise the chances. I am sure that if we tried to build from behind constantly against one of the best pressing teams in the world then we would struggle and maybe lose 5-2. It would still have been a fantastic game which Jurgen Klopp would have liked a little bit more, but I wouldn’t have. "

Pragmatic = HOOF!
