Not sure they look like they have been ‘stuck’ on....the way they word it on there website is ‘our new home’ I know it’s only wording but they rent it not own it didn’t have a say in the design unlike what they say on their forum....

If you rented a home, you'd call it "home" too. I'm not sure why some are getting their knickers in a twist about this.

It was said in the forums that there would be elements that could be switched for LI branding, then switched back for normal use. It could be that the actual backrests clip in and out, for example. (I don't know if this is actually so, though.) It is their new home... but only when we say so.

While they are elements that can change, a lot of these pics Irish are sharing this week are photoshopped. The club did a photo shoot last week at the stadium and it’s all part of the effort to sell tickets. If you look they didn’t even change the posts for us ;)

At Reading we did have the pullover head rest covers with the Irish logo (on a blue seat, very noticeable) so I’m sure we could do something similar at Brentford. I imagine the personalisation of the match day experience will come but in the beginning it’s going to be switching some LEDs to green and any LCD screens to green backgrounds instead of red. At the Madejski it was a lot of removable items which the club would bring such as flags, covers, etc. There was no permanent element which was ‘London Irish’.

As to calling it home, well, for us it will be. We just promise to keep it tidy so we can get the security deposit back.

Inspired by this post by @GABS I haven't seen any mention yet of whether LI will be looking to reduce what they pay us for rental of the new stadium. It would seem entirely appropriate but also another potential revenue stream we would have previously counted on.

I think we were keeping all the food and drink sales anyway. So we will be at a loss.

I dunno. Wouldn't be surprised however. Best keep an eye on planning permission because I think it needs it (well not exactly planning permission). @Hullbee ?

and can you point us at the relevant bit of the LI forum pls?

Isn't that that the whole point about electronic signage?

That is, when they're playing rugby everything can be in their colours, then we switch back to Bees colours for when we play.

I couldn't care less what it looks like at their games, since I don't expect to be there.

And if there's a big (permanent) Bees Badge on the outside of the stadium, then so much the better! (y)

(Shame we can't have electronic seating ;))

Sorry, when you said "our" badge on the outside I thought you meant "our" as in BFC.

But even so, if it is an electronic badge I'm not hugely fussed if it switches to London Irish for a few hours on their matchdays (only), so long as it reverts to the BFC badge for the other 345-odd days of the year.

Sorry my fault for not being clear....from what I understand it’s a permanent badge like ours

Don’t understand why people are so proprietorial about the stadium. It’s our stadium. End of.

L.I. will be our tenants and pay us a rent. It’s a commercial transaction. If Company A rents a suite of offices in a building owned by Company B who also trade from there, it’s a business convention that A would expect and be entitled to display their name and logo on the exterior as well.

London Irish had a Zoom forum for season ticket holders last night. Anyone here involved ? I was wondering when they hope to chase an egg around LR or TBCS as it's known..

You must have literally scrolled-past the posts that mention the Zoom Call.

"Planning is in place for a return to live crowds but obviously depends on Government rules.
Gave details of our first few and last few matches for next season, but asked us not to say on the forums, or social media." I don't understand this.
"Fixtures for next season out in next week or 2." So are they playing games this season ?
Hence my question... London Irish had a Zoom forum for season ticket holders last night. Anyone here involved ? I was wondering when they hope to chase an egg around LR or TBCS as it's known.

If it helps I was talking to Simon line (remember him) when he was manager of market drayton and he said they don't need planning permission for a temporary stand. So I guess it'd be the same to stick an Irish badge on the stand as long as it comes down post season.

badge on outside most likely require advertisement consent depending on size and illuminatation (formality I would imagine).

adverts at pitch side inside stadium no issues as they are permitted

Nope I am afraid it’s true.....I know some people don’t care but I do....if the roles were reversed and we were renting it they wouldn’t allow us so why the **** we are bending over for these I don’t know ....we have waited so long to have our stadium but with the seat colours and now this it don’t feel like ours....plus I highly doubt that Jon varney with what he said about us putting our marks on the walls etc won’t happen so it appeases the bloody Irish

how do you know they wouldn’t if the roles were reversed?

also I thought it would be obvious, we would get our on branding on the walls, I just don’t think it needs to be done ASAP, considering we may not have fans in anytime soon.

That's ****ing awful. The outside of the stadium is lovely and was just about keeping me from me arsed about the terrible seat colours. Have BIAS had their say on this, in that it's definitely not wanted?

The overwhelming majority appreciate the way the club has been transformed by Mr Benham, almost goes without saying of course. **** me though this kinda thing is really pushing things a bit too far IMO.

They have their badge on the outside of the Madejski why would it be different here?
Indeed, my company has their logo on the building that we rent from Bausch and Lomb and we only have a couple of floors.

Would anyone be this hung up if it was Wasps or Harlequins ground sharing with us? As paying tenants, they would want some branding around the ground. There will be plenty of bees branding on tv when the egg chasers on tv.

Perhaps MB will have a sound effect wired into the main switch for their signage: Kerching!

Not that offices are a good comparison, but most shared corporate buildings I've worked in or visited have a small list of the companies at a reception desk and that's it. Rarely on the outside of the building with a large prominent logo.

It's not a shared corporate building owned by a management company it belongs entirely to one company but they needed money so let a few floors out. We had them take their full size logo down and put a smaller one up so we could fit ours in.

It depends on how much the owner wants for signage rights.

But relatively few office blocks are that closely associated with their owner/anchor tenant compared to sports grounds. I think having a London Irish badge up is something more annoying at a time when we haven’t been able to go and feel the stadium is our home as fans but most football fans wouldn’t know what their logo was.

Perhaps we get a bit oversentimental about grounds. I don’t really see why Liverpool and Everton need separate grounds a few hundred yards apart when AC and Inter have ground shared for over 70 years and as long as LI don’t screw up the pitch I’m not losing sleep over them sticking a plaque up. Club Rugby is as irrelevant as the names of the advertisers painted on the roof of GP over the years. GP was never the home of DHL or KLM and LR will be no less ours for having an oddball badge up.

Strange post alright...

thought maybe he was saying London clubs preferred but Wasps play up north now so nothing London about them.

So can only assume he thinks “Irish” is putting Bees fans off London Irish....

How big is the London Irish sign going to be? Is it going to be similar to the BFC badges on each corner visible from the elevated section of the M4?

Well, if that was his point, I'm Irish so no racism angle going on here 😂

Going to be ten times the size of ours
In all seriousness, it makes quite a big difference if we are talking about small bits of signage around the place which I expected, or a great big badge like the ones we have around the stadium.

There's a big green rectangle in the middle of the stadium already... sneaked it in!
You can’t see it unless you have a 60” 4K screen but the pitch isn’t grass, it’s shamrocks.

I can tell you first hand it is quite common - my company rent 4 floors of a 6 floor building and we have 2 large logos on the side of the building and my head office had branding all around their building which was also leased.
