It's not the 90 minutes of football that matter, it's the bits just before, after and in the middle.

How is the crowd watching tonight all standing next to each other different to having socially distanced crowds in the Championship???

Yep, what happened to the rule of effin' six!

A bit disappointed with Alex Gilbert (17 - triallist). Looked very good in the semi, but bit off the pace tonight!

B team players showing that they are perfectly ready for the first team......a bit too mirror image unfortunately

Balcombe came up for a last minute free kick, and his header went just wide.

Light weight up front. No Morgenson. No Hercules on bench. Strange selection decisions.

Good performances from all the back 5 esp Stevens. Magouma good in patches. Joe Adams looked best player of pitch. Up front Pressley needs a lot of work.

Can’t remember us creating a chance all night. Lots of sideways stuff but nothing in the top third at all. Nobody looked like they had the ability to put a shot in, put a cross in or dribble into the area. All very academy like.

Injuries preclude selection

Maybe some of those will be involved on Wednesday.

Gordon and Maghoma were very good. Thought o Conner was poor. Shooting and corners generally poor. Very competitive game though so good learning.

We did ok, lots of pretty approach play but Hendon defended very well I thought

For me Maghoma, Stevens and trialist Gilbert (when central) looked the part. Kouts did ok at the back and Joe Adams had some good moments but also found a few dead ends

Hammar was pretty disappointing given he is probably the outfield player nearest the first team and I was surprised he was playing largely central. Pressley was well marshalled by the centre halves and lacked pace when he needed it.

To be fair to the B team, their main midfield players Read and Oksanen have both gone out on loan. There's a lot of new players being trialled or bedded in and they're going through a bit of upheaval at the moment. Shame Mogensen is injured as he's been excellent recently. Given how much movement they've had in the squad they've been playing remarkably well and you have to remember that this was a game against a proper solid mens team. All good experience..

Stevens MOM and a fantastic prospect if he works hard and keeps his head down. Would not be surprised to see him play for the first time in time.
Gordon also good.
O, Connor as solid as always.
Balcombe was solid but really needs league experience now.
Joe Adams played d well and needs to go out on loan.

Ibrahim Salah winger and Phoenix Patterson I think

It looks like Salah has already passed the dick test

After banging in goals left right and centre he was famously involved in one of the most controversial moments in egyptian premier league history. After scoring a hat trick vs his old club Zamalek, he pulled down his shorts and windmilled the away fans, earning him a straight red. He then windmilled the ref for this before nutting an opposition player for calling him a ‘kufar’. A three match ban followed.

If that was the same player, he is 33 and doesnt quite qualify as a trialist

Plenty of nice controlled football but virtually zero threat upfront. We seem to have no natural wide players, which is odd as I assume the idea is to mirror the first team's set up.

Neither keeper had much to do. Hendon defended well but like others have said nothing really in the danger zone and no real goal threat. What was the official attendance?

Not the same one. He is Ibrahim Windy Salah. Trialist was Ibrahim Salah.

Did he get the name before or after his ‘exhibition’?

NMc seems to have whittled it down to 3 triallists now. If they’ve been around for a few weeks, then they must be fairly close to signing, no?

Liked the look of Maghoma. Calm on the ball with good control and can pick a pass.
I agree. Thought he was too good, very few could anticipate his thinking. He had so much time on the ball excellent prospect. Not surprised he has been training with the first. The French Centre Back was good to.

I thought that the way that the players from both sides were in close physical contact after the game was surprising. They seemed more willing to embrace one another than in the EFL. It's not connected, but as was commented on here previously, the crowd were hardly social distancing for the most part.

That’s a valid point about the crowd, there was no social distancing in the seated standards at all. I was quite shocked tbh
