Did Marcus last night create a record for the longest gap between 2 goals for the Bees? I'm guessing it was around 1994 when he left us, so depending when he got his last goal back then, it must be somewhere around the 12 year mark

Not sure of the exact date the person who sits next to me told me his son wasn't born the last time Marcus scored and he is 10 or 11 so 1994 would be about right I guess

Marcus left us on the 24th March 1994 according to Soccerbase, but they don't have match records going back that far. How long between Gordon Sweetzers goals for the Bees BTW?

I love Marcus :love2: Still laugh about the time when my old man came back to GP after a ten year absence, looked around the ground and said not much has changed has it.. only for two seconds later Marcus Gayle to walk right past us!! :D

12th February 1994, we won 4-1 at Bristol Rovers with Joe Allon getting a hattrick :computer:

His last goal at GP was at home to Blackpool on 11th Dec 1993.

Murray Jones would have run it close if only he had the time.
