It's interesting that we opted to have Mads on the bench in midweek rather than getting minutes for the B team. Clearly we think he's up to contributing to the first team already.. Wonder how long it will be before we see him get his first minutes?

Should think a bit longer now that Marcondes and possibly Norgaard are back.

Should have given him minutes the other night instead of JDS. As soon as that goal went in TF should of sat JDS back down.

They (the coaches) know what they're doing.

We shouldn't keep looking for reasons to be angry/miserable/confused :hat:
I would say its looking at the bigger picture. Was JDS really needed?

Sheff Wed were the worst side ive seen this season.

10 minutes against Weds, maybe 20-30 against Stoke could mean he's in position to start vs Norwich . I think the coaching staff clearly have a plan for seeing JDS through the season and we might have to get used to just some cameos from him in many games so he can start and play a role in the bigger ones.

I think everyone gets that. Point was what was the benefit of the 10mins. I’m sure the medical bods and coaches know best, but after the injuries we’ve picked up of late if JDS had pulled something or picked up a knock from a northern clogger by coming on for a run around in a game already won, we’d all be questioning why.

Well he didn't pick up a knock and people are still questioning it. Like you say the medical and coaching team obviously know more than us, I was just offering the idea that by having little cameos ot keeps him loose and able to go for longer in bigger matches, rather than leaving him out and throwing him in cold.

This is actually probably the wrong thread for this chat though 😂

First look at Bidstrup today. Difficult to get much of an impression during what was a pretty low key/low tempo game but he looked decent on and off the ball and not afraid to put a foot in..

And I thought he maintained his fitness over the match. Not sure he's ready to displace Janelt or Norgaard yet but looks good prospect

Liked the look of Mads very much. Busy, good on the ball, happy to put a foot in. Very encouraging cameo.

A visionary statement. Impressive
LesB hasn’t been able to work Blackpool since March 2020. So he’s turned to the GPG to post his visions. He’s hoping mystics can re-open this May or June for the summer season. 👍

Yep, I like my son's comment on him today ie great when B team players come on and don't do anything fancy, just are busy and keep it simple.

I am not sure that Bidstrup was ever signed as a B Team player? He has trained with the First Team since his arrival from Red Bull, he was even injured whilst at St. Georges Park during First Team pre season. Yes, he has played a couple of games at that level, that however, does not make him a B Teamer. Although academic I suppose, as whatever, he is a very good prospect indeed.

I'm not even sure Janelt would have been signed without Bidstrup's injury.

Yep.

Bidstrup was Norgaard’s back up.

Never a B team player. He cost money, probably more than Janelt!

Going to be interesting next season with potentially 4 defensive midfielders if Oksanen returns too.

Cant wait to see him getting more minutes. Big prospect.
If we continue with current system, and I don’t see why we wouldn’t certainly in the short term given it almost gives us another man in the park with Norgaard playing both central defense and defensive midfield - and there are very few players who can play those roles as effectively - then Bidstrup likely to get more minutes off subs bench as replacement for Janelt. Alternatively if we want to shore up a bit more he comes on alongside Janelt

Well if Norgaard continues with his Beckenbauer role then we might well see some more game time for this young player as backup for Janelt

Norgaard certainly played the role like a cross between beckenbauer and Bobby Moore !!!
