I can’t imagine seen as a long term option so, as you suggest, most likely helping develop his defensive awareness. But good to see him get game time

Was really good to see him come on second half v Man C. Shows we have a lot of faith in him and must have been an amazing moment for him. Certainly looked nervous when he was waiting to come on!! Did well too.. great stuff..

I agree he was excellent when he had space, ran the show Struggled a bit when the Vale had their spell. Would have done him a lot of good. He definitely needs more game time.

That's a good shout. He looks to me like a combination of Woods and Forshaw, always ready to receive the ball but plays with his head up so constantly aware of what's around him and where his teammates are...

Nowhere near as one-dimensional – he was playing the Nørgaard role, with Janelt left and Ghoddos right in front of him, but Vale didn't press him at all (or he has a force field around him) until late on as he tired and that allowed him freedom to drive forward at will.

His ability just to get around the pitch effortlessly, break up play, pick up the ball and find a player in a yellow shirt was great but I can't imagine a PL midfield allowing him such freedom. Definitely a future star for us and one of the production line of midfield 'workers' so necessary in midfield, overshadowing Janelt on this occasion.

As I said, much more capable. It’s amazing how far we’ve come in a short time that a very decent players like Woods is so obviously well below the quality of a young player like Bidstrup who is still some way off becoming a regular league starter.

Mads Bidstrup was given 90 minutes of playing time when Brentford dispatched Port Vale out of the FA Cup on Sunday with a 4-1 victory.

Here it became an assist for the young Dane, when he in a distinguished way prepared for Marcus Forss' 1-0 scoring

It was the Dane's only eighth appearance in the Brentfort jersey this season, but according to the team's Danish head coach, Thomas Frank, Bidstrup possesses some qualities that make the 20-year-old Dane worth keeping an eye on in the future.

- One of Mads Bidstrup's strengths is that he has such a big engine. He reminds me a bit of N'golo Kanté at Chelsea, and that's a great comparison, of course. His ability to push and cover so many yards across the pitch is amazing and his acceleration when he walks past people is so good, Thomas Frank told a news conference after the victory over Port Vale.

According to Frank, it is just more experience that the young Bidstrup lacks.

Mads Bidstrup switched to Brentford from RB Leipzig in August 2020. Since then, it has been playing time in 14 games for Frank's first team.

Not sure you can have recall options now but I agree that if the squad is looking healthy by the end of the window a loan would be very good for Bidstrup. Lower championship to have a bit of a challenge.
