Ticket details in the pre season thread.

Fast trains there and back seem to be circa £90 at this stage but overall fare can be got down to £35 -£45 ish if you can bear the slow train via Crewe and a 45 minute "hop" to Manchester.

Can't see a train back that evening after the final whistle.

Sorry, I meant travelling back the next day off peak... hadn't considered travelling back from Manchester the same night as an evening game.

May I ask - where's a decent place for a few jars before this game?
I've never been to Old Trafford, or Manchester.

so many good pubs to choose from , No Coat or Chorlton Bee prob better knowledge.

The Bulls Head by station taxi rank is good. B Lounge further down Piccadilly . Then Northern Quarter half way between Piccadilly and Victoria stations

21 years since I lived there  I bet things have changed. What about your starwars pub Nick?! I used to frequent the student pubs mainly and obviously the pubs on Canal Street. Was a great City when I was there. Apart from the locals. And the rain.

Have you given up on that ‘star wars’ bar that you used to frequent?

32 years since I was there and the locals didn't change in the subsequent decade it would seem 😏

I’m still traumatised from my one venture into that establishment! 🤣

The best one was there was this fella who looked like he was talking to a mate. On closer inspection he was talking to himself.
There were 2 pints on the table so he finished one then said to his imaginary friend
" if you not drinking that i'll have it "

We always used to visit The Piccadilly pub just down from Piccadilly station (iirc there was also an offy between the two for train #cans  ) when passing through Manc. Bit rough round the edges, but did offer food and cheap drinks, and never saw any bother in there.

Been circa 5 years since I last visited, may have changed for the worse, of course.

The Northern Quarter has a lot of craft beer bars, become pretty trendy for it. Tram links obviously are there as well. It's not super run down nowadays!

I won't be up for this game, but will go for the league match. Drinking options aplenty though!

Ah Man that's rubbish. You do know if you test negative its up to you to isolate or not? I have copied and pasted the governments official guidance on the 'Have you been Pinged' Thread

Under current rules, those who receive an alert are asked to stay at home for up to 10 days, although the Department of Health said the app "is, and always has been, advisory" - unlike the requirement to isolate if you are contacted directly by NHS Test and Trace

Anyone still going to football matches after being pinged within that ten day timeline needs to take a look at themselves.

Raining in Manchester, I can't believe it, bloody global warming or something like that.

Those that are having to dodge the downpours at least you aren't at work...... He says as he logs into his 8th Zoom meeting of the day. ☹️
