This may be re-arranged at short notice to Wednesday 19th January which is currently a spare midweek. They could show postponed Amazon games on Tuesday and this missed BT Sport match on Wednesday. It won't be Tuesday as we have Liverpool (A) the previous Sunday.

I suppose then we may look at moving Wolves (H) from Saturday to Sunday to give us an extra days rest given that the next week is the International Break, but less likely.

Announcement may happen very soon after the FA Cup ties are played as this midweek will accommodate any COVID postponements.

Brentford playing Liverpool and Manchester United in league matches in the space of 4 days.

The big time has just landed.

Gotta feel sorry for the Wolves fans who’ve already made travel arrangements…..

Don't think the Wolves match will move, but you never know...It's an if on an if.

And me! I've just booked my train ticket before reading this, so no doubt it'll change and I won't be able to go.

If you play a midweek on a Weds what possible reason can you have to justify switching the following Saturday to a Sunday

I understand Thursday games but Wednesday is no justification

i don’t like the idea of us playing Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday…..do both teams have to agree on the date ?

Just look at the fixtures with clubs in Europe

Sunday Weds Saturday is normal

We are playing a HOME Game on a Weds

No travel after it

we don’t have a squad the size of those competing in Europe. With Saints already next midweek I’d prefer us not to have another one the next week also

Neither do teams in the Championship, including ourselves last season.....I think we fared okay then?

According to SWR website, engineering works in the Hounslow on the Sunday,so buses rather than trains for Kew Bridge station

I think for us the issue about playing games so close together is less the impact on player fitness/fatigue (though that is significant with a small squad depleted by injury and covid) and more the limited time to plan and organise as we’ve needed to do very targeted tactical work to compete with the best PL teams. I doubt our performances against Arsenal and Liverpool would have been possible with only 1-2 training sessions.

I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the two worst games for atmosphere at LR this season have been for Leicester and Everton. Both Sunday lunchtime kick-offs that didn’t leave a massive amount of time for a drink beforehand and a lot of people had work the next day.

Sunday lunchtime is my least favourite slot for a game.

But what about everyone who’s booked it for sat and can’t do Sunday? Do the fans just get overlooked cos players can’t play 2 games in 4 days ? 🙄🙄
It's unlikely the Wolves one will move IMHO, but just something to keep an eye on.

Exactly. I've booked the Saturday travel because I thought the Saturday 3pm Wolves game was confirmed at that time .

Sunday - Wednesday - Saturday is routinely accepted by other clubs so i wouldn't panic about that.

If BT got permission to put one of the re-arranged games on Thursday, however :sneakoff:
(it would also impact Man U v West Ham which is also scheduled at 3pm Saturday and not a TV game)

Hopefully they would instead put Brighton v Chelsea or Leicester v Spurs on Thursday (all four of those teams are already playing the following Sunday).

Sounds good! A bit of a busy January it's turning out to be, but at least we will get a rest for the final weekend of it. Liverpool and Man U within 4 days...not bad is it!

Do Man Utd have players away at the African Confederation Cup?
