12 quid is a lot of money for a friendly.

Adults should have been about 8 quid and under 16 about 4 quid.
On these prices he would still make the equivalent to 1 years average salary

Some people can't afford 12 quid to watch a TESTIMONIAL where the player keeps most of the gate money.

I've just stumped up over 500 quid on season tickets, 12 quid is too much for most people. This game should've been under a tenner.

Why not have two sets of gates? One at £12 and the other a voluntary £20 gate for those who want to contribute more to the fund on the night? Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to fix that up would it? Maybe even have a third gate at £8 for people called westwing?

Dont want to stick my Oar in, but i,m going to anyway.
From my last experience of a trip to our wonderful Capital it cost me 12 Quid for Approx 4 Pints of the good stuff, ( throw in a packet of Pork Scratchings if i,m way out ) ok, maybe if i,d of not gone in that Pub and carried on doing another hours sightseeing with my freinds then i would of saved my 12 Quid..So here is my suggestion to people who think 12 Pounds is to much money for a player who has devoted the whole of his career to YOUR club..Next time you go for a session, go out 1 hour later and save the money that you would of spent in that hour on a Man called Kevin O'Conner: These type of people dont come along that often these days believe me..:

Yah. I've been supporting Kev and other Bees now for 38 years. During that time I have received offers from Arsenal and Chelsea, which would have given me European and domestic success and QPR and Fulham, which wouldn't. But I turned them all down, on the basis that I am a one club man. That, my friend, is dedication. I'm fast approaching my fourth testimonial and I'm still waiting for my first game. The admin at GP really is shocking.

That said, I love you Bliss. So much so that I invented a fictional club - Bigbuck Rovers, in order to bite my virtual tongue and not say Wimbl...... well, you know what I mean . We all love you, and forgive you for talking bollox on this particular occasion .

A footy player has until they are mid/late thirties,then, if they are a lower league player, go into coaching (thats driving coaches) or some other unskilled labour.

Its either that or back to school to learn a proffesion.

I don't buy into this arguement about players short career.
Many get paid way above the average, even in the lower leagues.

Plenty of players go on to set themselves up in their own business as they tend to have enough capital to do so. Plenty more go on to management, training, coaching, commentating and broadcasting.

The retired footballers who are skint tend to be the ones who drank and gambled their money away.

Anyway, Kevin should bag at least 30K from this, nice money for working with a company for 10 years

Really wanted to but got buisness here in Germany. I am over that weekend after the game, and will hopefully catch a freindly in the proccess..
I am one of them " X-Players " who drank and Gambled all my money away so cant afford to stay for a Month in London ..Also ALL those mates i played with at My 3 Clubs are not that easy to get hold of these days..
