Ought to be under-18s £5. At those prices, I expect a very poor turn out :(

12 quid is a lot of money for a friendly.

Adults should have been about 8 quid and under 16 about 4 quid.
On these prices he would still make the equivalent to 1 years average salary
of Mr. Joe Public.

ITS NOT A FRENDLY.ITS A TESTIMONIAL FOR KEV.
ITS FULHAM-:)SHOULD BE £20 TO GET IN.
We know that !!

Some people can't afford 12 quid to watch a TESTIMONIAL where the player keeps most of the gate money.

I've just stumped up over 500 quid on season tickets, 12 quid is too much for most people. This game should've been under a tenner.

Seeing friendlies are normally a tenner, 12 for Kev's testimonial is not bad imo.

Normally a tenner, so why another 2 quid ?

I'm looking forward to the game but I think that nudging the price above the tenner mark will put a lot of people off IMO.

£12 for an Adult is fine with me.

This is for Kevin O'C, a testimonial, plus policing the game.

You're doing my blood pressure in today, what with your post on the swampies as well! £12 is peanuts for a football match in 2010. Most of the money goes to a Bees legend and it's Fulham innit.

Cheer up.

Why is it that any thread which quotes a match price descends to a "make it a quid cheaper and millions will flock in" discussion?

Just looking at the admission prices listed on the official site. Looks like it is indeed 'under 18' for the junior prices:

Brentford Vs Fulham - Kevin O'Connor's Testimonial, 8pm July 14th 2010
BFC Adults £12
BFC Seniors £5
BFC Juniors (Under 18s) £5

Why not have two sets of gates? One at £12 and the other a voluntary £20 gate for those who want to contribute more to the fund on the night? Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to fix that up would it? Maybe even have a third gate at £8 for people called westwing?

Just a simple idea that should raise a few bob more for his Kevship? :sorted:

Dont want to stick my Oar in, but i,m going to anyway.
From my last experience of a trip to our wonderful Capital it cost me 12 Quid for Approx 4 Pints of the good stuff, ( throw in a packet of Pork Scratchings if i,m way out ) ok, maybe if i,d of not gone in that Pub and carried on doing another hours sightseeing with my freinds then i would of saved my 12 Quid..So here is my suggestion to people who think 12 Pounds is to much money for a player who has devoted the whole of his career to YOUR club..Next time you go for a session, go out 1 hour later and save the money that you would of spent in that hour on a Man called Kevin O'Conner: These type of people dont come along that often these days believe me..::sorted:

Devoted my arse. It's been a handy little gig for him. How 'devoted' would he have been if Bigbuck Rovers had come in six years ago and offered to treble his wages?

Fair play to the fella - he's served the club very well while he's been here and deserves his gold watch. I'm very fond of him but I ain't sticking a halo on his head just because it never happened for him .

Very funny post:sorted:

I don't remember any of the Brentford squad sending me any cash when I reached my 10 years service with my employer.

Come to think of it, I got sweet FA from anyone.

Fair play to Kevin and let's remember all the people who get no recognition or reward for seving 10, 15 0r 20 years plus with their employers.

Yah. I've been supporting Kev and other Bees now for 38 years. During that time I have received offers from Arsenal and Chelsea, which would have given me European and domestic success and QPR and Fulham, which wouldn't. But I turned them all down, on the basis that I am a one club man. That, my friend, is dedication. I'm fast approaching my fourth testimonial and I'm still waiting for my first game. The admin at GP really is shocking.

That said, I love you Bliss. So much so that I invented a fictional club - Bigbuck Rovers, in order to bite my virtual tongue and not say Wimbl...... well, you know what I mean :D. We all love you, and forgive you for talking bollox on this particular occasion :sorted:.

I got £100 for my ten years (after 12 years). A one off payment - £8.33 for each years service. Apparently I don't get anything more until I reach my 40 years ... :(

The advantage/lack of choice, we all have is that, we can work until we die (thanks to Labours catastophic spending).

A footy player has until they are mid/late thirties, then, if they are a lower league player, go into coaching (thats driving coaches) or some other unskilled labour.

Its either that or back to school to learn a proffesion.

Or to put it another way, they play football with their mates until they are mid to late thirties, then have to go and do a bit of graft for a few years.

My heart appears to have started bleeding for them. I'm off to the hospital to get it stiched quick before the Tories close it. :D

I don't buy into this arguement about players short career.
Many get paid way above the average, even in the lower leagues.

Plenty of players go on to set themselves up in their own business as they tend to have enough capital to do so. Plenty more go on to management, training, coaching, commentating and broadcasting.

The retired footballers who are skint tend to be the ones who drank and gambled their money away.

Anyway, Kevin should bag at least 30K from this, nice money for working with a company for 10 years:sorted:

Hello Bliss, you should try living in London, feeding the kids, dog, rabbit and pigs and giving the wife a life of happiness and taking the local orphans to Griffin Park every other week. Times are tough, hey but I can still afford the odd bet and plenty of boozelol

I will be going to Kevin O'Connors testimonial after all, rude not tolol

Baddiel and Skinner will be back from South Africa by then. If we can talk them in to doing a one off special 'Fantasy Football League' show for Kev's testimonial and if we can book Jim Stannard for the 'Phoenix From The Flames' feature, would you come then?
