It’s a long shot but does anyone have a spare they’re willing to sell? Typically it was the one game this season when I didn’t buy one,

There’s only one on eBay too. That’ll go for more than £5 it’s starting at!

I am sure that, if there's demand, that they can print a few more.

Who do we contact as there does not seem to be anyone available at the club? I wanted this programme too. Any help would be appreciated.

I dont mind getting some from wendys shop. They sell all programmes in there and i cant see them being popular with the locals. I can then post them down good old paypal. This was the last game for me and i treated it that way, i hope there are more games

Good thinking Sheffield BEE I can check out the Wednesday shop in Meadowhall when it opens after Lock down. Just across the road from me.

When you say the ‘Wendys shop’, do you mean the programme shop near the ground and part of the terraced houses and the sandwich shop ? On leppings Lane.
If so, I’ve got that blokes email address somewhere. Will see if he responds and let everyone know.
I’ve emailed him, Richard Letts

No response to the email I sent as of now. Will try and find his phone number.
The one programme listed on e-bay is now at £25.18 with 4 days remaining ! Which Bees fan is that ?!
Steve Hearne from the Brentford programme shop is checking if they have any left over.
Going to email our club and ask if they could print some more
Have emailed Curtis Sport and will get in touch with Dick Rattray
This has got a tad concerning

I meant their gift shop as I've been told they keep some... However that's a good idea, I could leave a note through that shop's door. Also Ive just had another thought, their old kit man for about 20 years lives around the corner, always gets me complimentry tickets for our away match here and he's well connected with all their mob. As a final resort I can ask on owlstalk and I'l probably get my head kicked in on there.

More detailed response from Curtis Sport:

We design, print and sell the programme for Brentford in it’s entirety.

At the moment it has sold out.

There is demand for the programme as, at present, it appears to be the last programme printed for a game at GP - but, it may not be the last game, who knows?

In order to reprint (to make it viable) we would need to sell 500+ copies and there is no way near that demand at the moment - maybe 10 - 20 people have requested.

Imagine we can get to 500 if it’s confirmed as the last game. I’d definitely like one.

I sure we will get to 500 fully paid in advance easily if it proves to be the case. So no worries

... maybe you could expand on that please. What exactly are we, or could we be waiting for ? To see if it is the last game at Griffin Park ?
I’m sure it is. But what’s the rush in making sure and also what’s the rush in “paying for them and taking it from there ..”

Why not get a quote then get a load of pledges from on here and facebooks groups etc so it can be done at a fair price for all.

Or maybe the club will want to organise something or get involved - they do have quite a considerable mailing list and means to sell

Thanks for response. I’m just being open and transparent and trying to share with one and all where I am with this, as of now.
Quote coming. They need to check with printers. It usually costs them 75p to produce each for a large print run (2000 - 2300 copies). Minimum additional print run of 500, would be something like £2.50 per copy.
I’ll be engaging with the club and others on options available to us. Not intending on going gun ho and ordering another load myself, just yet .. just gathering information and sharing at this stage.

Yes, easily. Just give you an example of final game programme demand, West Ham sold 55,000 copies of their last edition at Upton Park.

Curtis Sport bid for this contract in the knowledge they would have final game rights so they must be losing out by around £50,000 profit on that final match if the season is curtailed.

I've just found another one listed below, starting at £5.00 (no bids yet and 4 days left). It's actually been posted by Curtis Sport, so they're obviously trying to make a decent profit from it!:

Pleased that I bought a programme for this game (as I quite often do) as it might actually be worth a decent amount in the years to come.

That’s a new listing and they’re (Curtis Sport) being a bit naughty doing this. They know people want copies. They’ve probably found Half a box and Now selling them off one by one.

ps it’s peak value is now. It’ll drop slowly as more come onto the market, especially if there’s a reprint (which should really be marked as such) then it’ll slowly drop down to a figure around £5.... then it’ll be standard fare as everyone who wants one will have one.

But if it's not reprinted, I'll probably be able to buy a second home in the south of France.....;)

Latest from Curtis Sport, after I emailed them about that programme miraculously appearing on eBay this morning:

That is our last office copy!

Funnily enough, I have had 2 calls this morning from dealers wanting to buy in bulk.

I’m going to speak to the club on Monday for an update on the last game to see if they want a reprint.

Didn't buy one on the day as i usually don't buy programmes any more since the price went up from 6d 😁 however was always going to get one for the Barnsley game to go with the one of my first game at GP in 1960. Some Sheff Wed fans who were at the game may be willing to sell.

Someone earlier mentioned Owlstalk, the Sheffield Wednesday Forum, anyone that wants one could try registering and asking on there.

After what I have seen today, I wouldn't be too hasty in ordering a reprint. I'd wait for the Club to return and people to open the place back up and ask again then. ;) :sorted:

Just give you an example of final game programme demand, West Ham sold 55,000 copies of their last edition at Upton Park.
I believe Spurs sold well over 100k copies of the programme for their first game at the new stadium, at a tenner a time (albeit for a special souvenir edition). There are a lot of collectors (and dealers) out there who seek out "special" programmes.
