Very solid. Probably the player we hoped we were getting with Winston Reid.

Yet again I barely noticed him, which is excellent against one of the best teams in the world.

A really solid game again. Just goes about his game really well with no nonsense. A free transfer huh. Excellent signing.

What a bargain. Just hope he learns quickly not to give away so.many easy free kicks in dangerous positions. I know where necessary, but most weren't.

Was impressed with Zanka yesterday. He just bedded in and performed wasn’t expecting him to be as good as what I’ve seen so far tbh. Then again how can I doubt a player we sign anymore 👍🏻

Definitely more mobile than I expected him to be given his age.

Playing the RCB role well and even basically as a semi-right back when Ghoddos replaced Canos and we threw caution to the wind.

Very impressive. Maybe should have done slightly better on their goal but he looks to have been a great acquisition

I'm not quite sure who should of done better for the goal. BM was ball watching then redacted to late. CN didn't look over his shoulder and notice the danger, but for sure someone should have done better.

Centre Backs go on to 35! Plenty of life in him yet.

A solid defender who has slotted in very well. Hasn't the mobility and ability to bring the ball out defence as Ajer has but another excellent addition to the squad.

What a great signing this was to pick him up after the season started. Getting better every game, and loved that cross he put in which culminated in Mbuemo hitting the post in the first half.

And have you seen our new reserve keeper from Spain? He is well fit. Time for another one of *those* calendars for the lady fans?
Infraction, not just for the lady fans! After the immense man love being expressed in the Griffin post-Chelsea I think we’re all wearing rainbow laces now.

Described as a "swinger" (or something like that) on the MotD commentary IIRC!!

Yeah, if all of our defenders were fit he'd be 4th choice, but he's a very good 4th choice who doesn't weaken us when playing. Surprised he was without a club...

Our win, other clubs loss.
Would be interested what percentage of games in the last five years we've had all our 'first choice' central defenders fit. Everyone pretty much guaranteed to play plenty of games unlike back ups for Ivan, Rico and Sergi at the moment.

Another very solid game today, with a goal to boot! He is solid defensively, playing sensible considered football and can bring the ball out.

Jansson is important at the moment, Pinnock is Mr Consistent and Ajer gives us an attacking dimension but it’s hard to see how you drop Zanka at present. Nice problem to have, especially with Ethan going off!

So much more mobile than I anticipated. I thought given his age that he would be to slow to play anywhere other than the Pontus “sweeper” role but he’s clearly good enough to play any of those back three positions.

Nice goal too!

Agree with poster above, he’s not a first choice ahead of Ajer, Pinnock or Jansson but based on recent games we are unlikely to see a season with those three completely injury-free and with MBS out for the medium term, Zanka has been a revelation.

I actually think that moving to LCB unsettled him and he looked not as composed as he is on the right.

understandable and still a very good piece of business
