I was hoping it wouldn't be that...maybe optimistically.

I fail to see how not going up was his fault

I think MB knows that the next few weeks will be frustrating for the fans and wants to shield himself from abuse from a section of our Twitter mob .. wise choice

I don't use Twitter but some of MB's more subtle posts and hints re signings have percolated down via the GPG and I always found them interesting. I have seen a fraction of Twitter from users I know and there seem to be some serious mentalists posting absolute batshit stuff about BFC so if MB wishes to avoid this I don't blame him.

Why’ would Matthew want to read anything those brain dead cretins would say? Those ****ers are only happy when they are moaning. Most of them lack an education, and have to blame someone for their own misgivings. I am pretty sure these idiots are the last thing on his mind. Way to go Matthew the good are all with you COYR.

You are probably right but I think the way this stuff works is that you have to wade through the chaff to find the wheat

I think Twitter is a good platform which is increasingly used by nutters. One person today said the A Level cock up was all the fault of the unions because they did not stop it. I reckon even Norman Tebbit might have seen that as a bit of a dodgy logic.

I made the mistake yesterday of biting on a tweet from a COVID conspiracy theorist. Two hours of my life I’m not getting back...

I do hope that Matthew is aware of his support on here and amongst the vast majority of fans (those with a functional brain anyway).

The day he leaves BFC will be a sad one.

I've so much appreciation for what he's done for this club & I can't see that ever changing.

There seems to be a succession plan in place for most eventualities. No succession plan would be good enough for such a disaster though, I'm afraid. Keep up the good work Matthew. You're a saint.

Surely it's nothing to do with some kind of keyboard warriors on Twitter. He's surely used to the occasional idiot making stupid comments? It doesn't make it right but you think he'd know to shrug it off and that the vast majority of fans see him as nothing but a great owner for the club?

Top Man, will always be grateful for what he has done at our club. We couldnt of dreamed 15 years ago where we would be now. Ive just witness the greatest ever season in 50 years of watching my little local club. I was gutted like everybody we didnt go up but I know my club is in the best hand. I would swap MB for any of the 91 owners. Thank You Matthew.

Heading as we are into another long hard season & off the back of our near miss, plus a very short summer break, I am not sure just one Benham is enough.
Wouldn't you feel a lot more comfortable with a couple more back-up owners Magic? :D

We are a side looking to get into the promise land, we need 2 people for each position, I would be looking into getting a back up tea lady or tea man to give us different options on that front.

Matthew Benham, thank you for giving us a great side.We should have been promoted but out of failure can come success. If anyone is to blame then that should fall on the management.I have 4points to make.
1.we lacked the services of a midfield destroyer a la terry hurlock.
2 we lost too many matches 1 0 ,we must learn to fight harder and turn those losses into draws or wins.
3 we are not streetwise.
4in future whatever we think of the opposition keep our thoughts private. To say Fulham were afraid of us and to say Leeds will be afraid to face us is crap talk and can only inspire the opposition.

Seems to be an anti gambling vibe around football. While it shouldn’t effect MBs income stream should we look for more pc sponsorships? Apple are doing well and we use lots of ‘puters at the club.

Right. I've got magicbees on ignore because he spouts the same old b***ock*s about splurging on a 'proven' striker ad infin****initum. However, he has made a very good comment about our owner. I know you're only joshing with him but ...

MB, top bloke.
As an OAP supporter, I don’t get all this stuff knocking Matthew Benham. Some of the younger elements should have been through the things us older supporters have been through.

Give the guy a break, and think were we heading before he put HIS into the club

If you are reading this Matthew Benham from one Old Bees Fan , THANKS for your support

There does seem to be an element, not exclusively younger, who think "the chairman" should be find money to fulfil their every whim. It's clear they don't actually care to know about the Club and can only assume they have the basic tribal knowledge as many fans of clubs all over the country... chairman owns club; chairman stumps up wads of cash; fans watch Sky and get their 'news' from Sky's clickbait; a few bad results and it's "chairman out".

This is clearly why Matthew Benham is smart enough to install a stooge Chairman and keep a low profile, sitting in his darkened room, surrounded by CCTV monitors and stroking his cat.

How many Owners are Chairmen nowadays? Very few I'd imagine.
