Think Delbee speaks for many. Can I ask, does he speak for you Torbay?
I would like to ADD , please Mr Benham don’t let the ungrateful drive you away from OUR club.

The older fans , maybe not as old as some, and you know what crappy football we have seen and played , so don’t let the silly so and so’s drive you away

Us older fans remember the Bournemouth game when Alex Rhodes goal saved our Football League status

Not quite League status but relegation.

Andy Scott took us away from having to battle for league status, even Benham had an input them days if I’m right

It's a fake account isn't it?
Christ on a bike...you’re kidding aren’t you? If you read through that fake account you can see that the posts lack class and intelligence...completely polar opposite to the real M Benham twitter account.

Some posts have since been deleted where certain respected posters got a bit excited.

No it stopped relegation to league 2 or whatever it was called then and we wouldn't have gone down anyway.

So what's the consensus on MB leaving twitter etc? Just a social media detox? I could do with one of those, deleting my profile and leaving Facebook a few years back was a good start mind ;-)

I don’t want to be blasé about what effect the stick MB receives on social media from our own fans might have on his appetite for calling it a day, but as a very intelligent bloke who deals in statistics, he will know better than anyone that whatever he does there’ll always be a constant % of bell ends that will grief him.

He knows the people that matter are 100% behind him and eternally grateful for what he’s done for the club. Unfortunately our success has brought with it a lot of 🔔 ends that know nothing of our past and too greedy for success.

Does Matthew Benham own the ground or the club? or is it the same thing? Can't wait to get in the our ground with a crowd. Griffin Park is now confined to history.

He own the club which, in turn, owns the (new) ground (via a 100% owned subsidiary company).

Ive listened to long term Brentford waffle about him and their complete ignorance to what hes done for us.

I remember Bees fans staunchly defending Noades at the end of his reign and after !! I bet some of them are critical Benham who saved us from the the aftermath caused by noades and has done things the right way amd completely opposite to noades, because his intentions are genuine

Perhaps a more succinct way of expressing is: the stadium is owned by the club, and the club is owned by Matthew.

Matthew Benham, thank you for giving us a great side.We should have been promoted but out of failure can come success. If anyone is to blame then that should fall on the management.I have 4points to make.
1.we lacked the services of a midfield destroyer a la terry hurlock.
2 we lost too many matches 1 0 ,we must learn to fight harder and turn those losses into draws or wins.
3 we are not streetwise.
4in future whatever we think of the opposition keep our thoughts private. To say Fulham were afraid of us and to say Leeds will be afraid to face us is crap talk and can only inspire the opposition.
greenland, there's a certain validity in what you say.
We played attractive football and on our day would really punish teams, other days we didn't have the necessary grit or determination, both physical & mental, to get a result....so how do we get promoted next time?
One thing I'm certain MB would have analysed was our goals record. If we average out our goals for & against over 46 matches, then we would win every match almost 2 v 1. (in fact one & three quarter goals v 0.82).
So, surely the aim has to be more clean sheets, allied to scoring in 'every' game (I did say 'aim').
Might not suit everyone?, but never mind the big scores, average them out into the tough games......and being a numbers game, we'll have a far better chance of promotion!
This, as others have said is really FAO Thomas.

.......and, of course, IMMEASURABLE GRATITUDE to Matthew for our current status!!!
(I well remember the £1m a year for five years to Bees United, that started us off on this remarkable journey!)
Thank you so much Matthew.

MB is a fan, would these morons drive you away from supporting the club? They won't drive me away as it is what I am. Why would they drive him away.

I am sure he is equipped to deal with the inevitable small percentage of fukkwit idiots out there, he gets plenty of support from the other 99% of us.

If I owned BFC I would be trying to get to the Prem for me not for them,

2 points off auto promotion, I don't think there can possibly such a long list of things wrong. To be fair, although we ran out of steam toward the end of the season an equal distribution of wealth from the refs would also have seen us up. WBA collapsed but seemed to get a lot of big decisions in their 1.0 and 1.1 games with offside goals given and soft penalties. You need that luck and we were given a piss poor hand by the ref against Stoke and Fulham when we hit the brick wall and needed some luck.

Is there still a golden share re the ground held by Bees United or someone similar?
Yes. BU hold the "BU Special Share" which prevents an owner moving the club to a new stadium that does not meet certain criteria wrt location, capacity etc.

Thanks. I felt sure that MB would have put such protection in place (or retained it if already in place).

It was put in place during BU's ownership of the club in negotiation with MB's lawyers re the specific terms.

it is now an irrelevance - well at least for the next 50 years. Hopefully

As football fans we judge what MB has achieved bringing the football club to the brink of PL football and rightly so! His contribution; not just the money spent in a business context must be one of the biggest business achievements over the past few decades and for anyone studying business is a perfect case study.

He was a successful businessman prior to owning us and he obviously set about building a business not out of place on the golden mile. The marketing, finances, community involvement, goverance came from non existent to world class. The ethos of the business is very important; the move to the new stadium heralds the beginning of a world class sustainable business. The business, it's new location, facilities and reputation will now allow the business to better stand on it's own two feet and prosper without his sole investment.

However in a football context the job continues as his dream is to deliver sustainable PL football to Brentford. His business planning and implementation has brought Brentford fc from the life of lower league/non league to probable PL future.

Whatever happens Brentford in the next decades the business/football club is perfectly set up! MB is a fan and will forever be associated with this period; his intelligient business mind may eventually lead him to decide when a time is right to cash in on some of his investment but if that does happen which hopefully it won't the business he built should be able to prosper for decades.

In the shed.
Having watched a few games at GP with his family and a few mates he might prefer to extend the "no dickheads" policy and keep the crowds out of LR.

If you're as rich as Mr. Benham, you really don't need to care what a few dickheads think.

And even if you're potless, but as intelligent as he is, then you won't choose to care either.

Absolute legend transforming the club off and on the pitch. And we now have a new stadium. Without him there would be nothing and a non existent club

Ground share with Hayes and Yeading probably. In fact name change to Hayes Yeading and Brentford or HYB perhaps.

Don't reckon we would have ceased to exist, but without him I could easily have seen us "do an Orient" and drop out of the League, probably without getting back up again quickly - or at all!

Intelligence and caring go together. I think MB carefully considered what he heard from supporters and all the options. He’s come a long way. I suspect the ground is going to be legendary and vibrant. Anybody ever tried to bake a sponge that has gone a little flat? LR, even without a proper crowd, looks the part.

Some rich and/or clever people are psychopathic enough not to care at all what other people think of them. Most, like everyone else, can be hurt by people being horrible, even if they’re able to still get on with stuff and not make a fuss about it. Magnanimity without condescension on the basis of awareness that you have more power takes effort.
