Surely a goalie getting covid is exceptional reasons...imo we can't be playing a PL game with cox in goal it's suicide
If we had no squad goalkeeper available, maybe we would have grounds. But we do. I don't agree it's suicide. He may surprise a lot of us! And the team we can put out is capable of restricting the amount of chances Southampton have on our goal...Surely a goalie getting covid is exceptional reasons...imo we can't be playing a PL game with cox in goal it's suicide
Assume one of those. Unless we have an outfield player that is competent between the sticks. Back in the day before g/k subs, Glenn Hoddle was Spurs' nominated payer to take over and used to do fairly frequent keeper training! If he does play who is the next in line to be on the bench, Shepherd or Winterbottom?
Wont be the 1st time he has kept goalHe will unless he moves Vitaly further back
That could be an unexpected but risky tactic. Matthew upfront with 10 outfield players behind him.Matthew needs to know every Bee is behind him, if he plays.
PL Teams are supervised in their tests. If we are that concerned about playing Cox, he could always test positive to a lateral flowand then the game would have to be called off, surely?
What are the rules for close contacts? In South Australia, the Australian cricket captain is in self-isolation.
Where was this?Well Frank has just confirmed we have 9 positives.......maybe the rumours about Alvaro are true![]()
Jay Harris from the Athletic has just posted this:Where was this?
Got to be off surely.Jay Harris from the Athletic has just posted this:
Mid-press conference Thomas Frank has been told that #BrentfordFC now have 13 positive cases across players and staff at the club.
Co-director of football Phil Giles rang him and the press officer to confirm the news.
#BrentfordFC #SOUBRE
That’s players and staff though so not necessarily first team playersGot to be off surely.
Just close the training ground. That’s players and staff though so not necessarily first team players
I suspect that he's a very relieved young man!Really feel for him, 18 years old and probably began the week expecting to start 2 Premier League games. His chance has probably gone now.
Bit of both really, would’ve been very nervous but the prospect of starting a Premier League game in goal at that age must’ve been very exciting as well. Hopefully he gets a chance vs Port Vale.I suspect that he's a very relieved young man!
He'll be waiting a long time for Port Vale to get promoted to the PL I reckon.Bit of both really, would’ve been very nervous but the prospect of starting a Premier League game in goal at that age must’ve been very exciting as well. Hopefully he gets a chance vs Port Vale.
Or keep doing them until you get one that states you are positive. If we are that concerned about playing Cox, he could always test positive to a lateral flowand then the game would have to be called off, surely?
I reckon he would have been sh*tting himself and relieved he’s not facing Man U with a weakened teamReally feel for him, 18 years old and probably began the week expecting to start 2 Premier League games. His chance has probably gone now.
Lazy reporting it might be, but you missed out a bracket )Where the f*(k do the reporters get their info from, Cox to replace Fernandez for Man U game, no mention of Covid, but just that Fernandez has only kept one clean sheet in 9 games, utter b”’ocks lazy reporting in my opinion. Do you really think Thomas would make that change!!!
lemon juice is good for that apparently...Or keep doing them until you get one that states you are positive.
Preston wasn't it?Was that when he rushed out of his goal to kick a clearance, only to miss the ball compleatly ? The 'face-saving story' being that the ball bobbled just before he was about to kick it !
Indeed. My PNE friend at the game found it most amusing....Preston wasn't it?
Totally agree.I reckon he would have been sh*tting himself and relieved he’s not facing Man U with a weakened team
Bit like the Watford keeper wrecked his career even after he moved to us.Totally agree.
It’s worked out quite nicely really; whilst not having actually had the pressure of being thrust in net for a Premier League game, he’s had articles about him in the national newspapers and The Athletic, written about as an 18 year old goalkeeper we were prepared to play in the PL.
I think TF will try to play his strongest team, QF after all.Guess he'll start on Wednesday?
Maybe start him at Port Vale?Guess he'll start on Wednesday?
Why? He's a professional footballer.I suspect that he's a very relieved young man!
Is Alvaro not Covid positive then?I think TF will try to play his strongest team, QF after all.
Depends when he tested positive, the Athletic article today on Cox would suggest Monday, the day before United game.Is Alvaro not Covid positive then?
Which would mean he wouldn't be available on Wed.. I guess the question then is whether Gunnarsson is available for the cup games?Depends when he tested positive, the Athletic article today on Cox would suggest Monday, the day before United game.
Don’t think he’s allowed to play for us until JanuaryWhich would mean he wouldn't be available on Wed.. I guess the question then is whether Gunnarsson is available for the cup games?
He could play at Port Vale then?Don’t think he’s allowed to play for us until January
If he’s not loaned out again yesHe could play at Port Vale then?
He should be clear by now I would have thought. Is Alvaro not Covid positive then?
Actually being available would depend on being asymptomatic or actually having symptoms so a negative test (or maybe 2 consecutive being cautious) allowing him to return to training some days before playing. He should be clear by now I would have thought.
