Rather satisfying result, bordering on epic really, a score line I could never have dreamed of. A clutch of great counter attacking goals, and Raya made some stonking saves.

A few ESBs tonight, I should lose the ability to control my legs by about 7.30pm 🍺

Colin, your men took one hell of a beating 🐝 :sorted:

No chance, he was getting it until his arms were elbowed away

Saville was already in the airwith his arm in that position before Raya jumped. Raya didn’t get anywhere near it. Some refs would give it and, obviously, some refs wouldn’t!

Didn’t want to look at this match thread while the game was on, cos I knew I’d get annoyed! Now after that Fantastic win. And the brilliant saves Raya did, I felt I needed to post. We’ve now gone 20 games unbeaten in maybe the 4th most competitive league anywhere in the world! And some were quick to get the knives out on Raya, after about 4 minutes!
99 times out of 100 Boro goal & Swansea goal would have been ruled out. If the Referee wasn’t so SH*T! We don’t resort to the dark arts like Cooper & Warnock, thank god.
I Love this honest Team! Come on you Bees!!!
Wise words, lambrusco :sorted: :hat:

Not gonna lie... I don't like lambrusco. But I do like you. Very wise words. Don't worry, next season this type of thing will be sorted out by VAR. In the meantime, it's all become part of the routine to concede an early goal, just to wake us up a bit. Stupidity to score against us so early though. Bit like poking a sleeping staffie with a stick.

So many superlatives already on this thread.

Have to say that an away trip to a Middlesbrough side coached by Warnock in appalling weather filled me with trepidation, something that wasn’t helped by conceding such an early goal. But this team is something not experienced in my time supporting us.

We have fantastic self belief and we have to credit Thomas and the team for installing this in them. Allied to this we have players all over the pitch who are comfortable on the ball and who have a great deal of skill. Our ability to score goals is second to none in the league and we also have some real leaders

Fans are quick to moan when mistakes are made and some of the comments about Raya are laughable. Foul or not his performance over 90 minutes was probably the reason we came away with the points and should not be underestimated.

We are looking like a team that could win the league But let’s win it in the style of Thomas by showing humility when we win rather than Bertie B B and, when things don’t go to plan don’t tear into the players but instead remember how they have performed to get us into this position.

2nd in the table, game in hand and best goal difference by a country mile, well done the players but particularly well done to Thomas and his team for creating such a potent unit

Great result which illustrated the fine margins. Although we dominated they had great chances against the run of play. If those had gone in ???? Free kicks into our box are suddenly making me nervous.

Just wondering: today saw us score our 50th goal of the League season, in the 27th match. Have we reached that milestone faster, and if so, when? Possibly in 62-63 I guess, but I also seem to recall a free-scoring first half of the season in the 1980, maybe when we won or were runners-up in the Standard London Goals Challenge or whatever it was called.

Over to you, Bees history experts...

Raya is a huge liability. Yet people - some of whom will presumably reply to this - won't hesitate to defend him. Too many errors, and the biggest obstacle to our promotion.

We should have replaced him in the summer after his stunt re. Arsenal

Wether it was a case of jet-lag, or Saville pulling Raya's arm, Raya was pretty awesome and so were the rest of them. I have a feeling that Boro will still be in the mix, which is very good for us. They have several very good players and should have scored. Of course, they could fall apart. This is exciting stuff, as the Tees Radio commentator pointed out, several times. Second time in four days we've recovered from an early goal against a top ten club. That point Swansea got away with looks increasingly like a consolation.

Yeah I know what you mean - celebrating those important goals with just me and my youngest daughter jumping around the living room and the dog going mental is fun but not the same at all.
My Son and I were going mental the dogs were running around barking but My wife sat there with a stone like face ( born on Teesside and yes a boro supporter) 😋

We beat a team 4-1 in their own backyard. I still remember the play-off game against them when they beat us 4-0. They really had a good side out and well if I am honest deserved their win. Roll on 5 years - they are a shadow of that side (having experienced Premiership) and we have progressed each season on and off the pitch.

I HATE when other fans say we are pulling above our weight - we aren't. We are progressing as a club and let's face it on and off the pitch we are Premiership. We just need to stay humble and focused for our remaining 19 games to make this into a reality.

That was a great result,a 4_1 away win at Borough against a Warnock managed team. I really do think we are going up as champions. This is not meant in a Billy big bollox way, but no matter which team we put out we pass the test. We have only lost three games, unbeaten in twenty, and i honestly think we have nowhere near peaked. Being a bee since 62, i have always been a pessimistic bee and have never stated we would go up till it happened. But none of the teams in this league come close to us. Nothing is guaranteed, and anything can happen. Thanks to all at the club for making this happen, if us fans were allowed in , i think capacity crowds would be cheering in our new home COYB.

Here is your Saturday evening Fact Check courtesy of Untouchable (20 games unbeaten edition):

  1. Win 4-1 away ✅
  2. After being 1-0 down after 3 mins ✅
  3. Back into the top 2 of the Championship ✅
  4. 1 point behind Norwich (who haven’t scored or won in 4) with a game in hand ✅
  5. 6 points clear of Reading in 4th (plus game in hand) ✅
  6. 9 points clear of Bournemouth in 6th (plus game in hand) ✅
  7. 14 points clear of Boro in 7th (plus game in hand) ✅
  8. Best goal difference in the league ✅
  9. Most goals scored in the league ✅
  10. Now averaging 2 points per game ✅
  11. 20 league games unbeaten ✅
  12. 22 goals for Ivan for the season who is on course for 37 league goals this season ✅
  13. Sorry Raya haters but he was fouled for the Boro goal ✅
  14. And Raya made 3 world class saves, of note when it was still 1-1✅
  15. Henry was immense today and deserved a goal from his second half effort ✅
  16. Jensen was immense today and took his goal superbly ✅
  17. Beating a Colin team in the driving rain and howling wind after conceding within 180 seconds? No problem ✅
  18. Still 21 points clear of QPR😂😂✅
  19. We are now officially living rent free in the head of every Swansea City fan ✅
  20. Reading are getting smashed on Wednesday ✅

All the above is true, and all made possible by one man, Matthew Benham. In addition to his 150 million pound "investment", his even greater contribution has been his unflagging leadership in making sure things are done the right way, on and off the field. Holding his nerve during difficult times, keeping the faith through terrible disappointments, and relentlessly turning us into the best team we have all seen. Thank you Matthew Benham.

This is not a pop at you IB but I have been dismayed at the number of personal comments against Tom the bee. He is surely entitled to his opinion and to voice it on here, a forum which is all about opinions. He won’t have been alone in expressing his frustration at the concession of that goal today. I accept that most of us will not agree with his fairly total condemnation of Raya but he posted before Raya’s man of the match performance.

Disagree with the man by all means but no need to abuse him.

Assombalonga....... when he walked on the pitch and trudged off at the end couldn't help thinking I'd never seen a more flat footed 10 to 2 stance ever in a footballer :giggle:

Even Raya says it was too. Which it was. 🤷

Just because the goal keeper says that he made a mistake does not mean that it was not a foul. A keeper has to be able to deal with such situations. Clearly in this case he did no do so, however, the fact remains, it was foul play. The video is sufficient proof surely. The elbow in Raya’sface was deliberately masked by other forwards jumping behind Saville,

It wasn’t. How many more times?!

Raya jumped into the crowd. Saville was already in the air with his arm/elbow raised up - as any player would do when jumping for a ball. Raya missed everything, as he states. He also says, “next time I take everything....”.

The ref didn’t give it. It wasn’t a foul. End of. IMO.

Demanding standing at away games wasnt it.

Might be a foul but he should know after the Swansea one if hes going to come he needs to have some conviction about it. Take everyone out.

Also this punching preference he has masks the foul IMO as hes stretching and reaching out for it. Where as if he comes with power and tries to catch it the foul is easier to spot as the technique to catch is a stronger stance. Punching always reeks of desperation to me.

*Cough, cough* That’s quite a claim, given the absolute knobs who post on here :judge:

The multiple posts by The Halftime Insane Clown Freaks, who’ll reassure us that Canos isn't fit to wear the shirt (just before he scores a hat trick in the second half), must be challengers. And don’t forget we had an online poll this week asking which other team people hoped would beat Brentford...... :poop::sick:

Really? It's a conversation I have had with other Bees recently. What's wrong with honest discussion/opinion, and losing is something we may have to face at some point and how this impinges on our season is important.

Was out shopping and checked my phone at 3.10 - 1-0, own goal Raya and thought to myself "bugger, this is going to be a long day", looked at the full time score when i got back in the car and just said "this bloody team".
What we are doing currently is just ridiculous, winning games we would have struggled with in the past, a very strong squad etc.
All i can say is im going to enjoy this ride and IF it finishes up as we hope in May, we are going to have a bloody big party.
If allowed 😄

There is little to be achieved by me arguing with you, we both watched the same incident, you have your opinion, and I have mine. It was gross foul play and the referee referee was unsighted end of. IMO.
