As sensational first halves at Griffin Park go, that was even more sensational than the last one. The second half wasn't too shoddy either, all things considered.

All very comfortable, totally bossed the first half and more looked like we slightly eased off of the gas on the hour mark and were still better than Leeds. Some really good game management by us, helped by bringing Alan Mac on who had no problem breaking up play and stopping any momentum that Leeds were trying to build.

Some very good performances all over the park tonight but Harlee was the stand out player and I suspect still has Chris Wood in his pocket.

Just a quick one today. Solid performance against a good Leeds side, who pushed the ball about nicely at times but our defence coped well.

Harlee Dean was outstanding at CB, running the show and winning everything.

Ryan Woods.... what an engine he is for us. Dictates the flow of the game and gets things moving. First name on the team sheet for me.

Romaine Sawyers silenced his critics today. Fantastic performance from start to finish. He is is a victim of confirmation bias at Griffin Park much of the time - when someone else misses or gives away the ball, the fans are far more forgiving. Even when he's having a good game but makes a mistake like any player would at times, he gets the abuse. It can't do much for his confidence, but today he shut them up. Some fantastic flicks and through balls, and he was drawing fouls as well, proving a handful in the centre of the field.

MOTM for me was Sawyers, though Dean was a close second.

Vibe did a heck of a lot of running today, but his first touch let's him down a lot. He should have scored twice today but for poor first touches. In the first half it was too heavy, in the second he should have taken a touch to round the keeper before shooting. His positioning is excellent which is why he bags the goals, a real poacher, but he could do more...

Thought we soaked up the pressure very well today, professional job all round.

First half we were superb again, everyone at near to their very best and we made them look like a league 1 side we were so superior.
Sergi set the tone ripping Ayling a new one in the first minute and Woodsy was as impressive as he was Saturday as was Romaine.
Only a matter of time and shame we didn't get the 4 or 5 our stunning football deserved, fair play to Rob Green who was outstanding from first to last.
When we were put under any pressure Dan Bentley and Harlee were superb, Josh C linked really well with Jota and Rico had his best game yet with Lasse largely anonymous but getting in great positions that caused their defence nightmares.
Their 23 and Bridcutt are both very decent players but were out footballed by Woodsy and Romaine throughout.
We have the makings of a really, really good team and 3 key signings, a bit of good luck and I can see it being a special season in 2017/18.

First half was the same as Saturday as we destroyed them. HD had the leagues top scorer so far in his pocket he may have bumped into Abrahams in the dark. Dean was an absolute mountain again, every cross was met by his head. Barbet had a decent game but his passing was awful at times.

Clarke is brilliant, every time I see him play I can't understand how he ever gets dropped. Fantastic going forward and decent at the back and electric pace, he did Dallas in a one against one several times. Rico Henry was excellent as well.

Woods was majestic as always, Nico was well off the pace to be fair and I am surprised he started ahead of KK who had a very good game on Saturday and he limped off towards the end and that is what happens when you are not fit, Canos was also fantastic first half, he destroyed them.

Jota looks absolutely shot to pieces and I can't understand why he has played the whole of every game recently. He missed half a season injured then was a bit player in a few games in Spain and to be fair has hardly played for a year. He was a class above everyone else for 6-7 games when he returned but has now hit the wall. He needs a good work out over the summer, a big pre season and then he will be able to perform for a whole season assuming we don't sell him but if Sawyers had put in a second half shift like he did you could have heard the jeers in shepherds bush.

Talking of Sawyers he picked up where he left off on Saturday, brilliant first half and a fantastic strike. Vibe was brilliant again, chases everything, puts defenders and keeper under constant pressure and again could have had a hat trick. If we play like this next season he could get 20+ goals. I know some are not convinced but his record is very good at this level and I think being made the main man up top he could be an ace up our sleeve. We couldn't play this way with Hogan as he didn't offer the options or do the donkey work. Another one would be nice but this guy has got goals in him.

Again for some reason we decided to stop second half, instead of Bentley throwing it out and the defence getting it wide asap and destroying Leeds we seemed to go into reverse and take our time and start playing sideways and backwards passes. Jota, sawyers and Canos pretty much became redundant and it all got a bit dull. Leeds had nothing, absolutely nothing and couldn't hurt us so we could have gone for more but didn't seem bothered. Sawyers still picked out 2-3 fantastic passes when Vibe and Josefzoom should have scored but it wasn't to be.

Bentley had three routine saves to make second half but other than that nothing to do except some crosses which he caught brilliantly. Leeds were pretty toothless and had one tactic, lump it forward to Woods and let HD dominate him in the air.

The ref and lino were an utter shambles second half. First half they started well then it just got worse as they awarded everything to Leeds and half the free kicks were for things only he saw. It was all summed up at the end when their bloke fell over his own feet and the ball bundled off the pitch. RS picked it up to take the quick throw only to realise to his astonishment the ref had awarded a free kick for nothing, their guy pushed Sawyer over and Sawyers gets booked. Astonishing.

Anyway, it all had a bit of an end to season feel about it but it is great to watch at the moment.

Same was said about Gray and Donaldson. It's just part of the game and comes down to being in the right place at the right time most of the time. Then some work and some don't.

we came, we sang, we conquered. what a brilliant night. not entirely sure why, but that was so enjoyable, great result and showed what we're potentially capable of now. awesome. can someone finally invent a song for sawyers please, he deserves it. can someone make a statue for harlee out of cornish granite, he was that fecking hard tonight, owned Wood who is leading scorer in the division. Hope our Woods is ok, he was immense also but so was everybody else, enormous team performance from front to back and side to side. very happy.

You talk about signings, but my only fear at the moment is that we are going to start losing players if we continue to play like this. Now we're safe, we need the likes of Woods, Harlee, Sawyers to start playing sh1t for a while. ;)

agree with most of that but i thought Jota looked more on it tonight than last couple of games to be honest. not his absolute sparkling best but still doing well.

This was up with anything we ever did in our playoff season.

We outclassed Leeds in the first half and stood up to them when they came at us after the break.

I spoke to Neil Refearn at halftime who was so impressed with us and the football we play which he described as premier league.

Utterly brilliant and we made a damn good team look like alsorans.

To think not so long ago Luke Ayling was a player I wish we had. Canos had a field day. Just have a great feeling about us right now. Next year is going to be very very interesting.

We are a joy to watch sometimes. Sawyers was brilliant tonight. Don't get me wrong, he has frustrated me this season but only because I knew he could be as good as he was tonight.

Football is interesting. A couple of months ago we had no width, no pace and it was hard to see where the goal threat was coming from other than Hogan. IMO what has turned it around is the emergence of Henry and the arrival of our two Spanish magicians. Add Josh , Colin and Zoom Zoom and we have gone to the other extreme. I have been a critic of Vibe but he had a good game tonight and is benefitting from the new structure. Leeds just couldn't deal with our pace and threat and we ripped their ar*e off in the first half. Two nil flattered them.Chuck in Woods who has become a standout player and we have arrived on the edge of being something special. We all know what we need next season to make that push possible and I'm sure the management is working on it. Too many players had a great game tonight so I'll simply say it was a great team performance. Despite having possession, Leeds never really opened us up whereas we had a load of chances.
Only sad note is that it looks like Woods and Yennaris may have picked up injuries with Yennaris looking quite bad.

There was a Sawyers song sung tonight to the tune of Human League's 'Don't you want me baby'.

In the first half we played some sublime football - quick and very accurate passing. Brilliant movement all over the pitch.
Second half, we played like men. Big ****ing hard men. Wasn't sure we could do that with our team of little 'uns, but we did and more than matched a very physical side.

Better than ANYTHING under Warburton.

Just got home!
Was that Leeds? Or just some team they picked up in a service station on the way down the M1.

Outplayed and out-thought by us, and certainly out-skilled by us in every department. Only Green came out with any dignity out of their efforts. We know how brilliantly we played in the first half, and how strongly we resisted the expected onslaught in the second half. This turned out to be no better than a 15 minute effort, which quickly diminished.
Surprising how few ideas they had.

Smith beat Monk tonight - totally. Yet Sky TV barely mentions it.in fact just now they talked about all the other top 6 except Leeds.

Above all we progressively silenced their supporters, who have retreated back to Leeds, somewhat embarrassed

First half we played with such flair, freedom, totally dominating them. They looked like some Yorkshire Sunday league side, such was our superiority over them.

In this post-Hogan era, where we have thrown off the shackles of a one striker/one player attack, we now show that we have the squad to really compete for the top of this division.

We must keep this squad together for next season. They have all stepped up the game, and once again I will say that Kerschbaumer has transformed himself. He is far more determined, gets stuck in, and looks more of a Brentford player than he ever was.
I criticised him, yes, but I admire the fact that he has improved his game. He is a starter/sub who will do a good job for us. I only mention his name, because I admit I have criticised him in the past.

However, well done to the whole squad. If we had got rid of Hogan sooner, we'd have been top 6 this season. We have a team to be proud of. Sure. They'll make mistakes, but I love seeing a whole team working for each other, no slackers, no prima donnas, just 11 players working their socks off for a great result!
So no more name mentions as everyone contributed strongly as a team.

That was another GP under floodlights memory.

But do you know what really gets me. We all saw what a result that was. But yet, unbelievably, there are still some f*****g idiots sitting near me, who moan from beginning to end.
Is there a way I can get a Steward to throw them out? Perhaps I can report them for being supporters of the other team. Why on earth do they bother to come. If that tonight doesn't please them, they must be just simply idiots!

Sometimes you just realise the club you support not only have played well but play football the way you want to watch it, when you beat a side that is going for promotion it just makes you proud.

Football is our way of getting through the weeks - walking away from the ground tonight was the champagne moment recognising that Matthew Benhams dream is beginning to turn into reality. :)

Well said, Mick. Absolutely. Tonight was even better than Saturday. Club have some big decisions to make in the Summer as I can't believe we won't get big money offers for some of our players.

With Alan Judge coming back and players like Andreas, Josh M and Maxime also returning from injury, next season could be very interesting indeed if the club resist the offers.

I thought the first half was as good as I have seen at Griffin Park for a very long while, the whole team played with pace, poise, precision and intelligence, Leeds were chasing shadows. 2nd half weren't quite as good but if we can get the team to play like they did in the first half (and second half at Burton and first half against Bristol City) then there would not be a team in this league that could live with us.

Fully agree. That was the complete performance in every sense and the way we slowed down the game in the second half was a tactical masterclass.

A great performance, 2 different halves requiring different responses but we met them on all counts. This was an example of where the team performance was greater than the sum of parts, everyone contributing to the win. Special mention for Romaine whose technique for the first goal was superb and had an excellent game, as well as Harlee who again led from the front and was excellent in keeping one of the best strikers in the division very quiet. If we can keep the main nucleus of the squad together whilst adding 3 good signings we will surely be in with a shout of promotion next season based on this performance. Big credit to Dean and the boys for making this happen.

Dickie Davies, said we are excellent in first half and Leeds came back into it a bit in the second.

He's normally pretty complementary about us. I like his reporting actually as he always seems so enthusiastic, as opposed to some of those "seen it all before" types.

Leeds hoof and hope football was ugly on the eye, their tactic appears to be to hold on and hoof up to Wood and see what happens, usually a lucky break and a 1-0 win with a Wood goal or 2-0 if falls into the right place for a 2nd. Our little urchins just twisted and turned from the first minute to the last with a 20 min spell just after HT where we chased shadows a bit but Leeds weren't good enough to create anything of any real note, Vibe's pace showed Bartley up, Canos made Ayling look poor and Woods bit against their diddy two in the middle, Bentley's claiming of crosses during Leeds' best period were excellent, that is their tactic and your keeper needs to stand up to it, Dean dealt with an awkward bar steward in Wood and with anything else that came his way, what a player that man is, Barbet had an awful start with wayward passing aplenty but found his range and his game upped a level with it, Clarke was a menace in attack and pacy in defence, I thought he had two to deal with in the first half as an out of sorts or tired Jota didn't help much in tracking back, Jota had his moments going forward though, Nico covered ground and got a toe in, Sawyers carried on from Bristol City, finding space and used the ball cleverly, a fantastic strike thrown in, Henry wasn't spectacular but did all he had to do and those jets were lovely to watch on the brief times it looked like the Hoofers were behind him. Alan Mac gave everyone a lift, KK doesn't let us down, a very easy and deserved win against a fallen giant who somehow are in the POs, everyone knows Leeds are ordinary, Monk is known for his silky stuff at Swansea but somehow he has got a mob that hoof into contention, I know what I prefer to watch.

Presumably we sign him. If we are to push on we need depth particularly to be able to sustain our pace and width. Re Judge, if he comes back strong we can expect his early departure.

Excellent all-round performance. Like on Saturday, first half more dominant than the second, but this time we didn't sit back in the 2nd half, but fought for the win - and Leeds, though not great, were a greater challenge than Bristol

T
Totally disagree.

His first touch is excellent most of the time. The first chance he dinked over Green and it went just wide and the second one he let come across his body before trying to hit it round Green with the outside of his boot. Maybe could have gone around the keeper or lifted it but neither were missed because of a poor first touch IMO.

It's not a fluke that Leeds are top 6 which makes last night even more impressive.
Reading and Leeds are stunningly ordinary and have both scraped wins with dodgy penalties and he odd goal all season. SW we played off the park and then Newcastle we were robbed and Brighton we robbed ourselves but the latter two are light years ahead of the first two.

Reading and Leeds are stunningly ordinary and have both scraped wins with dodgy penalties and he odd goal all season. SW we played off the park and then Newcastle we were robbed and Brighton we robbed ourselves but the latter two are light years ahead of the first two.
I thought Wednesday played us off the park? We were embarrassingly lucky to get a point, even though we almost squeaked three. That match was Bentley versus Wednesday!
