I nearly went for that one as well. The roof nearly came off NR when that went in.
Yes that was really important to players and fans alike. We had played really well and lost to the likes of Watford and Norwich and first half it felt like the players and fans thought that maybe we did not belong here. The second half and THAT goal released a rush of emotion that said ‘we are here to stay’. One of my favourite GP moments.

Could someone with connections to the club suggest these are all compiled for a New Year's Eve reflection vid?

Would suggest that the appropriate answer to the thread title would be promotion to the Premier League !!!

In the same vein: the first three bits of wood and a net being erected at Lionel Road.

Yeovil's second goal at Wembley, delayed promotion for a year, changed history, we'll never know if for better or worse.

Trotta @ Orient
Douglas v Oldham
I always felt that Donaldson’s clincher to make it 3-1 at Peterborough on New Years Day felt like a big goal as well.

Donaldson at home to Peterborough, last minute winner in a 3-2 win was pretty crucial as well.

Not the most important but up there for confidence in my eyes was the Dallas winner away at Blackpool. It gave the club and team a lot of beleif after the draw at home and the 1 nil away defeat at Bournemouth (when no one at the time realised they would be promoted )that they could compete in this league, but I never dreamed of finishing 5th then.

Go on Youtube , watch that goal again and then watch the reaction in the paddock of a well known GPG poster from up the M1. :) :) :) Totally understandable after watching years of dross and we had scored a last minute winner against one of the Championship " big boys "

If you can watch a video of this look out for the young lad in the wheel chair. Unbelievable celebration. The wheels come off the ground. I watched it time and time again just to watch him.

Got to go with Trotters goal at the Orient. They fizzled out after our win and we went from strength to strength. And we are still surprising the likes of Norwich and Aston Villa.

Probably the Trotta goal at Orient that I think made me and many others I suspect realise at the final whistle that we were going to make it this time?

Indeed. The old brentford would have lost that game.

Has to be Judge's one at Preston. Though Trotta at Orient(because we'd never won there for years) or Dougie v Crawley (because all the results went our way that night) were vital in getting us over the line.
