BHA is my local club, so watched some of their match. Maupay getting sent off after the final whistle was stupid, especially as Dunk got a red card earlier. Makes their final fixtures even harder. Should be ok though, provided Fulham don't produce a Houdini act. Hope not anyway.
They're down if they lose against Burnley tomorrow (or is it tonight as its past midnight??)...

Excuse my ignorance, but if he is sentenced and resides in Singapore what are the actual consequences?

Well he is remanded in custody at the moment and could spend 6 months inside.

They give out official canings for chewing gum so I don’t think their penal system is very cushy.

The sentencing is on 7 July. He could end up in prison for two years plus a £10,000 fine.

So sad. :judge:

If he’s got long hair too, he’s not going to see much football for a while.

Post match discussions last Saturday night (into Sunday morning) centred around can't believe we are in the Premier League to whom has been one's favourite player in the 6 years we have been in the Championship. For me so many to name, Said is really is up there as he has been the best player I have ever seen in a Bees shirt to Sawyers whom was worth the entrance fee alone, lets not forget this year but for me it was Maupay. His second season with us was just wow and those pics of his celebrating in front of the Leeds fans is just iconic. We (Premier League Brentford) once had a forward line of Said, Ollie and Maupay. WOW.

Yes Fulham fans actually thanked us at the end of the season that Maupay scored that game for giving them their best moment ever at Wembley (when they forget they f***ed up last game of the season against Brum) for them to go back straight down (again) the year after. Lets not focus on lower league clubs anymore :)

Has he been touted for a call up to the French national team at any point?

I don't think so for the senior team, realistically.
I think he's eligible for France and Argentina. Pretty unlucky to be a striker with a choice like that, could hardly be worse for quality of rival players...

Villa away!!! :devilish::redcard:
😉
Haha oh yes. My Villa friends still talk about that.
Plus he didn't actually get a red of course leaving him free to score what could have been the winner...
That was a great away day, not entirely ruined by the Holte End going mad in the 95th minute.

Despite doubts from some quarters, Maupay is selected to lead the line for Brighton at the start of this season and scores in their opener vs Burnley.

Ironically wouldn’t get in our team ahead of Toney or Mbeumo

I thought so too at first look but agree with the analysis...he had no intention of playing ball and was just blocking...glad that's not given regardless of rules and the two players involved.

Another goal tonight. Brighton do look good and will be a stern test for us next month.

Will get a good reception from me tomorrow before and after the game. Looking forward to seeing him play but hope we can handle him. Maybe wrong but think only Sergi and Rico in our expected starting line up will have played with Neal.

First time we will have seen him since he left for big money. I'll join in the standing ovation - once he found his feet for us, he was brilliant.

Not sure what's happened at Brighton. They still seem to think they need a striker. Hope Neal doesn't prove them wrong tomorrow. The next game - yes. Just not tomorrow.

What has Maupay said or done to deserve such venom? Have I missed something?

Yes mate. He doesn’t play for Brentford anymore.

But in fairness I’m smashed and don’t even remember the original post ! 😂

If he gets subbed, or comes on, a polite round of applause, but nothing over the top.
