Today witnessed long standing Brentford fans getting abused in the Weat stand!!

Their crime deciding to leave when the 3rd goal went in after a long afternoon. So serious was this crime that they were called Chelsea scum and disloyal bastards.

Seriously disloyal for deciding to leave early??

We don’t have many ginger fans and I certainly don’t remember ever seeing this particular horrible ginger ***** before this season. So ginger I hope you enjoyed the disco and post match loss of honour tour of the pitch.

for many of use losing week in week out pains us and if we want to get angry or show our dissatisfaction by leaving earlier that is our choice. To abuse in the way you and your mates did today is not being loysl or supporting your club it’s being a ginger **** who deserves a good slap. So ginger get the hair dye out cos your a marked man !!!!

These new Brentford jump up numpties need to be weeded out
Your only basis for calling them new Brentford is you can’t remember a ginger brentford fan before now - that’s f***ing ridiculous.

You could have raised a decent discussion point here but went for random nonsense and abuse. Doesn’t make you any better than the people you were trying to call out.

ok I won’t refer to him as ginger again. Revert to the clothing angle to describe him “Twead coat wearing ****” I hope this is acceptable

Whether you leave early iS down to the individual. Some times as a kid with my aunt and uncle I walked out of Griffin Park as a youngster, but the gates were open at half time to casually walk back in and I have supported BEES since the Coote, Horne, Cakebread era. The trouble today is we are brought up in a period where Brentford have enjoyed so much success in the last few years that any point of failure leads to arguments between supporters. Reality has to set in my friends we are punching above our weight where the opposition need few goal scoring opportunities to win games with the quality they have.
Lets have less of this abuse of fellow supporters and get behind the team in ONE VOICE!!!!

Yep like brexit New Brentford is a phrase that deals with every eventuality. What’s your problem?

The way it's being applied here is all wrong. New Brentford wouldn't dare be so aggressive or show their displeasure out in the open. The New Brentford approach would be to roll their eyes, mutter under their breath and then go on to grass these people up in the comments section of the Athletic's match report

Why was a long standing fan leaving early? I thought everyone stayed for a lap of appreciation? Or is that dead now?

Sounds a bit "New Brentford" to be leaving before the final whistle!

"New Brentford" is being applied to thousands of supporters that the 20 year old kids (about 30 of them) have never met before.

My wife and daughter could be classified as new Brentford they have only been coming the 2-3 seasons. Win, lose or draw they stay til the end and clap the players….without fail!! They don’t stand there and turn on the players, they don’t shout to Jensen that he is “waste of skin” they don’t shout that “you are all sh*t” that I have heard from the mouths of “true Brentford fans”.

i am sick of how quickly we turn on these players that were hero’s to us all just a few short months ago..

Brentford being sh*t and bottling the big game was always part of being a Brentford fan to me. You and the rest of the glory hunting New Brentford crew will get to experience this over the next few months as we become relegation cannon fodder. March 2022 will be the month Old or the real Brentford will rise book yourself a counselllor and support person it’s going to be traumatic for a lot of you

How can the team be assisted with a minute to go against one of the best defences in the league
By staying and supporting them until the end.

What if the players turned around with a minute left and just left the pitch? Would you be happy with that?

A relegation battle needs togetherness to overcome it, not a f***ing off attitude because you think it's a done deal.

Me? You probably spent most games drinking in a pub that had a picture of me as their sign you muppet.
Home and Away in 4 divisions & 3 cups 👍🏻 and actually watched the matches & supported the team instead of worrying about when my next alcohol fix was.

Yet we mock others for exercising a fire drill
I have never done this they are entitled to do as they wish paid their money what’s the problem.

not sure how so many can stay on and enjoy the disco as if the game performance and defeat meant nothing to you

Leaving early is one thing, abusing players is quite another and it’s not for me or the overwhelming majority of others it seems. However, personally I’ve found some of the ‘happy clapping’ stuff after a couple of defeats this season a little OTT and I think the players expect to be held to a high standard.

The picture that was outside Stripes on the sign, 3 young lads at Southampton (H) in 2005, wasn't as good as the away game mind.
Anyway, don't let posting get in the way of your drinking time mate must be gasping for another 🍻

Geez, they are also not clapping mindlessly they are showing their appreciation for players that represent our club, players that a few months ago were playing in the championship, players that are getting used to a significantly higher standard, players that may not actually be good enough to get us to a standard we want. I’d rather ‘happy clapping’ than some of the stuff I have seen at the top of the West stand.

I had Harry Potter tell me he “f***en loved me” when we scored a winner away at Bristol City many years ago. It’s not a cock swinging who is the greatest supporter contest. But pleased your claim to fame is having your photo outside stripes that I like many others never actually noticed

b***ocks to being called a glory hunter when I had a ST throughout L1 & L2. Pitch invasions for staying up. Put money into buckets. Seen us get battered away in ridiculous places. Wembley loses.

Personally have never left a match in 40+ years early & I might raise an eyebrow at those that do - fair enough if you've got kids or elderly supporters or trains etc to catch but to get an early pint in....however no excuse for abusing your fellow supporters.

I am surprised during all that time having watched such sh*te you never ever decided to leave early not even once!!

You are indeed extremely loyal and patient. Well done you I salute you sir and would love a signed picture of you at Southampton.

But this is all about people's freedom to utilise football in whichever way they want to.

As much as I hate it, fans are entitled to dislike Jensen, and be negative about the team. I was in the South stand today, and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. The negativity in the bit I was in was unbelievable. But they're entitled to be like that.

The West stand, and I normally stand on the top row in W233 is way less negative than what I heard today in the South.

Anyway, what I don't get is that fans have left games early ever since football began. When some feel that there's no chance of getting a result, some fans will take advantage of the fact that there's a minimal chance of getting a result and want to get home as soon as they can. They can do whatever they bloody want and I'm not sure I understand why some fans feel the need to boo fans who leave early.

I'm fairly sure those who boo those who leave early are the same ones who sing "stand up if you love Brentford" whilst scanning areas of the ground to see who isn't standing up, then feeling a mixture of feeling superior because they feel like they're a better fan, and answer towards those they perceive to be inferior fans.

It's all rather ridiculous. At the end of the day, support the team however you bloody well want to. Whether it's an outlet to unleash your pent up life frustrations, whether you want to sit, leave early, or whatever, why should anyone dictate how you support Brentford? 🤦‍♂️

Sorry, I thought you knew every face that ever entered the ground from those times, since you're so sure the ginger fella is new Brentford because you've never seen him before, my mistake.

Never a contest, you called me a glory supporter, I said why I'm not. Heyho, enjoy your night and your beers Mr happy 👍🏻

I left the ground a couple of minutes early today for about the first time in 50 years. After all the effin time delays I had to get the train on pain of death. Hated doing it but would never boo anyone who left early . It's all about support and being together isn't it?

I wouldnt know you from your GPG handle?

I know many supporters to see not by name or GOG handle. Put a picture of yourself up maybe the one from Southampton and I will let you know if I have seen you about.
Were you wearing a twead jacket earlier by any chance?

I agree with every thing you say, fans should be able to leave early if they choose to as well show their displeasure with performances. It’s just this ‘real’ v ‘new’ Brentford thing that is getting on my tits and maybe not even that but just Brentford fans having a go at other Brentford fans for reacting to a defeat in a different way.
