Surely Levy LTD can do hospitality?
I was having a similarish chat with Bish on Saturday. Weve really thrown our eggs in the basket in the hope of living off prem money. If/when we get there and come back, when the as likely chance of going lower than championship, we could easily be ****ed
I remember seeing an interview with Rasmus where amongst other things, he pointed out that it is far harder for BFC to be competitive in the Championship than it would be in the PL, if/when we get there.
His reasoning was as follows. In the Championship, the difference between the 'Haves' (money received from recent time spent in the PL, plus parachute payments) and the 'Have Nots' (teams which haven't been in the PL recently, or at all) is far greater, relatively speaking, than the income gap between the smallest/poorest teams in the PL and the biggest/wealthiest teams.
Basically this is because domestic TV money in the PL is reasonably evenly distributed (though the disparity from overseas TV money and European participation is making it worse again).
Of course, the actual difference in the PL makes it well nigh impossible for the smaller clubs to compete for the Title/Europe. But I guess what he was saying was that a well-run club can still hope to hold its own for an extended stay in the PL, even in the present financial set-up.
Thereafter, if/when we got relegated to the Championship again, prudent financial management of the PL income received, plus parachute money, should (stress) help the club stabilise and avoid a further relegation.
All of which may partly explain the concentration on the sporting side of things at LR, rather than diversifying into additional non-sporting activities in which the club has no real experience?
Read again the bits about "well-run club" and "prudent financial management".Didn’t work for Coventry, Wimbledon or Ipswich!

I know it doesn't sound ambitious, but I do wonder which is harder for a team like us... finish in the top 2 or win the Championship play offs vs making sure there are three worse PL teams than us to survive in the top flight.
I've started watching that potato crisp bloke on Saturday nights (MOTD) We have nothing to fear from Primaship players.

That would make sense. Can’t see Southampton being as lively than Chelsea or Tottenham. It depends on the opposition, apparently.

It won't be just the police, it will be the Satefy Advisory Group, of which the Police are members. It probably depends on the Met Police. They would have a Safety Meeting with the clubs usually about 4 weeks before the scheduled match to discuss potential issues. Both clubs, including the away club would be represented at that meeting, usually by a senior safety officer.
If they believe a high level risk of violence and/or disorder is likely (based on intelligence), before, during or after the game, then the allocation and segregation would be reviewed on a match by match basis.
This meeting could include if any known persons are travelling, the historical and local context/rival of the fixture. Travel and Transport arrangements plus if alcohol should be served in the away end etc.

why dont they just ask me ?? i could tell em everything they need to know about every game we having coming up.........asking the met police anything is probably like having an ashtray on a motorbikeIt probably depends on the Met Police. Great idea, in these diverse times and as an inclusive club, we need an expert steering panel known as thewhy dont they just ask me ?? i could tell em everything they need to know about every game we having coming up.........asking the met police anything is probably like having an ashtray on a motorbike![]()
Get in touch prior with the club and they will advise. I'm sure they will be able to accommodate somehow. I put a GPG'ers in a room by the players' tunnel for one game which meant he got a quick tour after!Does anyone know what the rules are for taking in bags?
I'll be traveling from Lincoln and staying over at a mates, so likely to have a rucksack with a change of clothes in it. Will that be allowed?
I can pull together an elite security detail of fan friendly experts with special communicating skills who could guarantee no Bees fans would end up being ejected or prosecuted. Sonofabee Consultancy Services, friend to the stars and still not affiliated to any fanzine has secured the services of a highly qualified security advisor from KT postcode with their own battalion who would be perfect for this rolethe police charge a fortune these days.
thank goodness top notch security is less expensive (talking registered / trained security not stewards) and just as good inside the ground.
in my business ( small to mid-scale music festivals) we are lucky to have a community police officer stroll through once in a four day event.
we haven't seen a bobby on the beat down here in Hampshire in a year.
madness.
NoSorry before hand as I know this will of probably been discussed to death but I can’t seem to find anything.....can the new stadium capacity be increased? I understand about the smaller capacity and more hospitality makes the club more money etc, but I just wondered if that was it now or any of the stands built upwards? Probably getting ahead of myself but just thinking if we establish ourselves in the Prem or even push on higher, is the current capacity the limit?
There are threads on this. Basically no, not without completely rebuilding at outrageous cost over the railway line. Many tens of millions to get another 5000 in. PG gave it out as we were leaving as just over 10,000.Announced on TV as just over 10k - 10,019 I think he said.
A reasonable test then. Anyone still at Gunnersbury?PG gave it out as we were leaving as just over 10,000.

Wow. What with the 10,000 away fans that some fella suggested must have been sold that’s not too impressive for the bees fans. Small club again![]()

Not really - first week of August, there’ll be loads on holiday now.
Like you![]()
Seconded. Great city.If Valencia reciprocate next season, it really is a must do trip.
Fantastic city, great beach, easy walk from city centre to ground, lovely people, easy to get to city from airport and lots of fun for kids.
I love the place. Apart from Nice obviously, it is up there as my favourite football Europe weekender.
Supposed to be my holiday vacation for the last two years. If Valencia reciprocate next season, it really is a must do trip.

I think I remember reading they either have a new stadium or have a new one half built and long delayed. I might be getting mixed up with someone else though. If Valencia reciprocate next season, it really is a must do trip.

been there to see valencia v bilboa.......great city and ground in superb location with loads of bars nearby......went in the famous spanish drummers bar which is their equivalent of the inverness.....their ultras were a bit off but once they saw a brentford tattoo they were more interested in a conversation......lucky for themTrue. They have a half built stadium that is also getting smaller in final design as they have no funds.
The new stadium can not be as good a location as the current location so hope it is never finished.
Not sure fans want to move to it either.
Yep it made getting into the stadium easy.....good work !Not sure if this is the right place but the tunnel off the Kew platform is very good.
No way. We couldn't have a better location. As Banana states, we can survive with a full house and other income. A bigger stadium and empty seats would be a risk and relocation to God knows where, maybe even Twickenham, would be an insult to all devoted long term supporters, I'm sure. The expansion options are: to demolish the West Stand and start again to give a second tier; to demolish the North Stand and rebuild with a second tier over the rail line. Possibly another 2,000 in the west and 3,000 in the north. The cost per additional seat would be enormous and the money would never be recovered, especially given the loss of the stand for a season or so. It's unrealistic.
If we're an established top 10 PL club, we'll have to relocate.
You are quoting the attendance. There's plenty of empty seats. Over 100 ST seats on the Ticket Exchange for a start- and they know it exists. So it’s 16.5k then![]()
Was the game “sold out”? Genuine question, I’ve not been following closely recently. You are quoting the attendance. There's plenty of empty seats. Over 100 ST seats on the Ticket Exchange for a start- and they know it exists.
So plenty of empty seats
Yes, but that doesn't mean that everyone went. Was the game “sold out”? Genuine question, I’ve not been following closely recently.
