Might have been reported elsewhere but I see on linked in BG achieved Practical Completion on 7th August. For those not familiar with Construction Contracts , PC = Major milestone, normally followed by a 12 months defects liability period. Suggest that’s a really good result accounting for Covid impact .

Massive news. :sorted:
Bit odd club did’nt announce ? I suppose the Contract is between BG & EW though and the more significant announcement would be safety cert issued to club ?

How many times...all available funds go on the playing budget...the off field circus are barely aware there is a new stadium

At least the teams will know where the pitch is

Hopefully once the stadium is handed over to us we can make it more like our home

I like the fact that we are getting,as fans, some new facilities - a warm-up room for pre-match preparations, and showers and a plunge pool to cool down afterwards!

(See new stadium photos).

I did see something a long while ago that had the safety certificate as the club's key milestone. It's quite possible events have overtaken that, in all probability.

But my get confused as they turn away after scoring maybe celebrating in front of empty coloured seats thinking they are fans

Does this mean you can now walk round the new ground without the barriers or does the building of the flats still prevent this.

Barriers are still there. Walked around it with my son yesterday. Still security with dogs!!
Didn't see any dogs on Friday when we did the same but some nice polite security men did stop us walking down to look through the Dugout entrance.

A place to call home! I know seats have taken some stick but I think they look good and distinctive.

All the early moans and groans from the needy have dribbled down to a very few. When you seen the finished article in its entirety, it does, to me, look so much better than any of the early images. All those ITK snipers who were saying there's no red in it!!! It seems overwhelmingly red now.

Just a shame we have to wait until we can get to see the team play there

There may be restricted access seats in the corners as they've been trying to fit more in.

Seen some of the lounges? Could be a stadium anywhere in Europe.

Any chance of the club running tours of the new ground? I'd be all over that...
I did email the club last week regarding this, even suggesting they could make a small charge, got a reply saying they haven’t any plans to do so.

It is a stadium in Europe! With some decoration on the walls and fans milling about, it'll be fine.

Thought we'd left Europe or has Covid hit that on the head?
We've not left EUFA, as far as is football-related, and Russia has not found a way to tow these islands into the Atlantic, yet, and claim we're African.

Just back from a stroll around Lionel Road. Couldn’t even get a small peek inside. Everything closed up.

The seat colour choice was genuine criticism, not the 'moans of the needy'. And less people are complaining now because about 2 years have passed...
