Another costing. :(

I suppose it was about time. Those portakabins had probably passed their sell by date.

From the planning application they are subject to "enforcement notices". It also has a plan that labels the "legal" structures :D

Yes, this was mentioned before.

Is this still a long lease agreement? Can’t remeber who owns the land now........

Stil, another large cost coming out of someone’s piggy bank.

Land is owned by the Mercers Company of the City of London

Good news but who actually owns Jersey Road? How long is our lease?
Is there any danger of spending millions on upgrading the facilities only to be evicted at some stage in the future.

Yes, that hasn’t gone down well with council or local residents.

This is welcome news to provide decent facilities for the players training and staff working there.

"Brentford Football Club has been operating at the Site for over 10 years and has recently agreed terms for a new lease of the Site from the Mercers Company of the City of London for its continued use as a training ground for both the First Team and B Team (formerly its Academy)."

So we don’t own the land. One good thing is I thing there is very little chance of the land being used for housing, as the local residents do like their green areas. So as long as it replacing old buildings with new within the same building footprint ,or with very little building expansion it should be ok

Absolutely classic Brentford by not promoting this to the fan base - instead letting someone pick up the planning application.

Can not see any ambition in the artists impression ☹️

Look at the vehicles in the car park - not a Porche, high end Audi, Roller, Mercedes or Mazerati in sight.

But there are vans and small cars.

Does not jell with us being a Championship or Premiership Club once completed.

There are actually TWO planning applications in for Jersey Road.

Scheme A includes relocate of staff currently based at Griffin to the first floor of new building which solves the problem of no club offices at Lionel Road
Scheme B does not include that option, or a press car park if/when we reach the Premiership

Scheme B reads:
"The Proposed Development includes office rooms for coaching staff, scouts and team meetings, however, it does not propose the inclusion of the Club’s ancillary administrative offices which are currently located at Griffin
Park, the Club’s existing football stadium in Brentford. The Club’s preference is for the administrative offices to be located at Jersey Road given the valuable synergies it provides having staff and players together.
However, given that the administrative offices are not, in MOL terms, considered ‘appropriate facilities’ in connection with the use of the Site as a training ground, they are not included as part of this application. A separate planning application has been submitted for a scheme that does include the Club’s offices."

"an Enforcement Notice was issued by the Council on 28th August 2017. The Enforcement Notice states the alleged breach of planning control, in the form of structures and car parking, which were considered to be out of keeping with their location, failing to enhance or preserve the appearance of the area, contrary to Local Plan policies CC1 (Context and Character) and GB1 (Green Belt and Metropolitan Open Land) and London Plan policy 7.16 (Green Belt). The Notice requires the unlawful development to be removed with the compliance period extending until the 27th February 2019"

Note got long to build it all then!

Surely they could have incorporated a covered stand and tea-bar for B team games...?!

I’m assuming that securing a permission will overcome this.

I think this is good news for the club. Improved training facilities will only attract better players to the club.

Understand that, as you would expect what with planning to spend money on it, a long-term lease has been signed as noted in the planning docs from which the above quote have been lifted. Haven't got the exact details but am old it's more than 20 years.

Would that be CEO + PA in that office rather than 2 CEO's?

The time period for compliance with notice will be extended as the club are working proactively to resolve and I would imagine the council is just paying lip service to the complaint without having any real intention of enforcing the notice at this stage.

I'm impressed by the plans.

Does The Hairdresser have any interesting information relating to this I wonder? :fishing:

That was my view too but it’s good to get an informed opinion on it.
