I don't envy the task the DoF have in finding a new head coach. Seems like we're looking for someone who can:
1) Motivate the team
2) Has very good man management skills
3) Organise large number of coaching staff
4) Understand requirements of British football and enable foreign players to adjust
5) Accept ideas coming down from above, and forgo final say on player recruitment
6) Compromise their own footballing ideas if needs be, so that they can work with a head of football philosophy
7) Make best use of analysis
8) Accept that we have to sell our best players to balance the books and meet FFP
9) Transition players from academy to first team
That's not a dig at the new structure at all. Just sounds like it's going to be a tall order to find someone who fits that bill, who's within reach of our club and not already coaching at a higher level. That someone will probably be a forward thinking foreign coach, who can adjust to Championship football quickly. Finding an excellent coach may be fairly easy, but one who can also man manage, change tactics during a game, etc, will be tricky.
Any potential candidates?
