We played cricket against them too......also had fixtures at Ford Open Prison and Broadmoor!!!!! Now that was scary!!! Had all our ties and laces taken off us when we arrived and we were really worried that they might have put bromide in our tea!!! Looking back we probably should have had a rethink about who our Fixture Secretary was!!!!

Scariest place and nastiest team I ever had the misfortune to play against was a side called Wurmser from an estate in Acton.
Played against a side on Broadwater farm and against a Turkish side with one of the Arif brothers who were mad but this lot from Rara land were beyond mad and dangerous with it.
We won 2-1 and possibly the only time I ever wanted to lose a game as thought we wouldn't get out alive.
Never seen so many wrong uns with illegal dogs in one place and they were lining the touchline and either trying to trip you up or spit at you everytime you got near enough.

Played against an Eastern European side in Gunnersbury Park, touchline loaded with "gangsters" looking to hit you everytime you ran past, end of the game was a huge fight, they all had knives, police called.
Not for me thanks.

There was one "fan" on the line who opened his sports bag to show me a baseball hat when I went to take a throw in and it reminded me of the scene with the Ducky boys in The Wanderers!

He said he was showing that he had his shooting boots on.

He's been training with them for a while now and yes they are desperate. They've only been able to get a few young loans and old out of contract players, but recent form generally has been ok.

SOUTHEND United striker Nile Ranger will have a scan on his injured groin today.

Ranger's Shrimpers comeback lasted just 11 minutes against Salford City on Saturday.

But Blues boss Mark Molesley is hopeful Ranger will soon be back in action.
"Nile's gone for a scan today and we’re hoping it’s a low grade one injury which would keep him out for a week to 10 days," said Molesley.
