Excellent performance from Norgaard tonight. Only downside is it means he's more than likely to be away every international break this season. Think we really need to bring in back up for him otherwise he'll end up playing a huge number of games..

Good point, if we were to lose Christian for any significant amount of time it would have a huge impact! I don’t expect like for like back up but not sure of who would currently fill in without weakening us significantly.

I hadn't thought of that. Oh well. Still I very much enjoyed watching a Brentford player in a game like that.

I spent the whole game watching Christian whilst he was on . Its the first England game that I didnt care if we won or lost .I told my son my love of Brentford has shown to be greater than that of the National team , and I'm fiercely patriotic

I felt the same.

20 years ago I would have been able to put the bees connection to one side for 90 mins things have changed with England over the last 20 years for sure.

Christ Southgate is sooooooooo negative. 5 right footed players in defence and two holding midfielders. Ignores our flair players and picks a championship sideways passer instead,

Looked so much better when grealish and mount cane on who did himself a lot of credit today.

Nørgaard did what Nørgaard does for us, which in itself was impressive for his first full international start. A few borderline tackles and a few neat attacking passes in owning the space in front of the defenders – Harry Kane will be filing a report when back at Spurs, which will put Christian well above the radar. Interesting also that Denmark played quite a 'Bees-style' game, so that Danish coaching style does seem consistent.

Felt very proud watching him making the lions look ordinary, I believe Trippier will not forget Norgaard's name.

I've seen nothing but praise for him in reports of last nights game.
It's going to put him in the shop window too.

How much do we think he is worth?

Doesn't ever get mentioned in transfer speculation.

Well not until now maybe.

Exactly what I was doing. I thought CN was excellent, especially for an int. debut. Some proper tackles and broke up play very effectively, as he does for us. So much of what Norgaard does goes unnoticed by some but he is now clearly one of our most important players.

I had to check the Wikipedia page for Danish IPA during the game. (That's phonetic symbols not a beer.) But as that page doesn't have audio clips, I was left little the wiser.

The Sky Sports commentator's pronunciation was probably a bit closer to the "correct" pronunciation than what Marky Bee and most Bees fans say, but sometimes it's better to just anglicise a name.

Can't see Jensen making the interceptions and tackles that Norgaard does. Fine for a home game against a side sitting back but would worry against the stronger teams. Norgaard is so good at reading the game defensively and that's certainly not Jensen's strong point.

I was hoping we would get an upgrade on Jenson and Marcondes. The only position last season that fans would have had a different opinion. The other 10 were automatic when fit.

I'd agree with this. If we want to strengthen the squad (rather than simply replace sold players), then that's the position to look at IMO.

But we additionally need someone who can deputise for Norgaard when he's not available.

He needs to become the Jensen Interceptor. Could replace the BMW

Jensen will kick on this year I reckon. Baptiste will be a hell of a player as well. We are covered in the advanced midfield positions I reckon.

Would like to see another holding midfielder as we can't expect Nörgaard to play every minute of every game and Jensen is not a holding midfielder.

If Jensen and Marcondes can meet the top levels they hit during post lockdown more regularly then we’ll be laughing. All about getting more consistent performances from them this season. There’s no doubting their ability. Expect JDS to step up a level and will be interesting how much baptiste and Zamburek can contribute. Only area I’m worried about in midfield is cover for Norgaard although always happy to bring in upgrades if they become available

I think this is a valid point, but I think both Jensen and Marcondes can improve still themselves, plus we have Baptiste and probably Zamburek pushing for starts. On their day both Jensen and Marcondes have been outstanding so it’s a consistency issue as much as anything

Regarding DM cover I think we might need some just in case, we don’t have quality competition here yet for a team looking to go up.

Agree. Likewise, I started becoming a Denmark supporter!
Christian did what he does best, breaking up play, strong tackles, winning the ball back, and getting the team going forward.
Heis going to get even better, and is already a very powerful influence in our midfield engine.

Never thought I’d hear Brentford, and stuff about us explained during an international match commentary!

Norgaard really is a top -top player and PL ready. Probably one of the best signings we've ever made ?

Man of the match award for me.

Not that I am biased, but he looks head and shoulders above everyone on the park.
He was made Man of the Match for Denmark - that’s tremendous. Wow! When was a Brentford player made MOM in a full international at this level?

Don't see why not! He's young, fit and athletic just like Ollie, and he played in every game.
