Couldn't find a dedicated thread about Northampton Town.

After today's results, they are only 3 wins away of being L2 Champions. Pleased for them after all the shenanigans relating to their new stand, and the alleged dodgy dealings relating thereto. Glad to see on the tele that there are seats at long last in situ. To think a few years ago Chris Wilder might have been our Manager!

This story in the sun sums it up nicely I think.

Seems the shenanigans haven't gone away, not by a long shot:

Northampton Town loan: 'Corruption' probe over missing £10m

A probe into a missing loan of £10.25m to a football club is a "complex financial and corruption investigation," police said.

Northampton Borough Council loaned the money to Northampton Town in 2013 and 2014 to redevelop the stadium, but the funds seemingly vanished.

Allegations of theft, fraud, money laundering, bribery and misconduct in public office are being investigated.

Officers are preparing 30 case files for the Crown Prosecution Service.

More than 550 witnesses and suspects have been interviewed in relation to the case.

The work on the stadium was uncompleted after contractors who were not paid pulled out.

In January, Anthony Cardoza, and his son David, the former owners of the club were ordered to repay Northampton Borough Council £2.1m.

Anthony Cardoza was declared bankrupt in April after losing his appeal against repaying the money.

So far seven people have been arrested in connection with the police inquiry, including the former chairman David Cardoza, who is on bail.

A further 23 people have been interviewed under caution.

I have to say it’s symptomatic and typical of the type of people who over the years have moved into and live in the area.

And: "More than 550 witnesses and suspects have been interviewed in relation to the case."

So that's the Season Ticket holders done, then, I guess the Members will be next?
Don't understand why this has gone on so long. They were lent the money by the Council, work started then stopped, as money had gone. Too much elapsed before anyone cried foul. Very odd. Always seemed an open and shut case to me.

Northampton Borough Council are still pursuing this:

Northampton Town loan: David Cardoza faces losing house

A former football club chairman is facing a bid to seize his home in a legal row over a £10.25m council loan.

Northampton Borough Council is trying to claw back cash given to Northampton Town for a redevelopment of its stadium, which was "misappropriated".

It is taking action against ex-Cobblers chairman David Cardoza and his wife Christina to recover debts of £365,975.

One more reason to give thanks for getting rid of the likes of Ron Noades and instead having an owner like Mr. Benham. :sorted:
