Hi guys,

I know it was an absolute turd of a season but does anyone have footage at all from the 2006/07 season when Leroy Rosenior was manager? I'm trying to compile some of it together and am missing a chunk of games from December onward currently. If anyone can help, it'll be massively, massively appreciated.

Probably our worst season ever! Especially the months of October, November and December. Why look back on a pile of pooh?!

An interesting introduction!

Can you expand on why you are compiling together this please? Just curious...

AJW89 is Leroy Rosenior?
I'd do a better job.

It's more of a precise thing as I've got a lot of footage going back to 2001/02, but there's a big chunk missing in December to January/February.

Look, if you want to be a bunch of dicks, be a bunch of dicks. I half-expected it coming on here.

I've got almost every game apart on tape stretching back to 2001/02 - taped off highlights programmes, the Championship on ITV, Football League Extra, etc, and at some point I'll put it all on YouTube so everyone can enjoy it and relive the good (and bad) times - especially with the sweeping change we're about to go through with the new stadium, etc. Everything is there barring the odd LDV Vans Trophy game, one or two in 2007/08 and this chunk from December 2006/January 2007.

If anyone can genuinely help, then please drop me a message and it'll be hugely appreciated.

Only asked what this was all about considering you stated you don't support Brentford on your profile. So forgive us for enquiring as to your interest in the Rosenior period.

Is this some sort of commercial venture you are embarking upon? especially with the sweeping change we're about to go through with the new stadium etc.

Nope. It's not commercial at all in any way - you're massively over-thinking it.

It's actually the Scott Fitzgerald era I need. I didn't realise Leroy Rosenior got potted as early as he did (November).

if it is commercial then copyright must come in to play?

Even if it isn't commercial, there are still rights holders.

Not sure how this venture is going to work. You can't start a football channel on YouTube and shove a load of content on it that is owned by other people.

Good luck in reporting every video that's on YouTube then which hasn't been uploaded by the 'official' rights holder.

I can inform you reliably that they get taken down by the rights holder. It's happened to our account on several occassions.

Good luck if that's your ambition in life.

I'm sure there's plenty which have been up for years and are enjoyed by fans, players, managers and loads of people as it provides memories to look back on.

Good luck in getting you're post count up. I'm off because this has become utterly pointless.

On a more specific request, does anyone have a link to any footage of Hermann Hreiðarsson's goal v Cardiff at GP on 28 December 1998, it was a great atmosphere that day and his goal I seem to remember was a dribble, a one two and back of the net, cue epic crowd meltdown.

It may be a false memory and I have tried to find some trace of it to test my memory cells, but to no avail.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful indeed :sorted::bees:

Not much use in finding it but how I remember it as well. He used to love a charge upfield from defence. An all time classic GP game and not just what happpened on the pitch. In a weird way I miss those games the most, Bristol City, Southend and others in that era had a real edge about them that you just don’t get nowadays, whether we were leaving GP or not

I have a notion that at some point the Cardiff fans in the Wendy House were chanting "Argentina Argentina" (a legacy of World Cup 98) and the 3 sides of Bees fans responding in kind.

I am glad my memory of the goal and celebration is not a myth or just a bastard good dream, but is real :sorted::bees:

I remember penning an article which confirmed, stats-wise, that it was our worst season ever. Played quite well for the first month, but it was downhill thereafter.

Yep. There was a three game run around February time when we beat, from memory, Blackpool, Brighton and Huddersfield.

Not sure we won another game until the last of the season.

Remember it being a great goal from Hermann, but not the specifics. Also remember hundreds of Cardiff being locked out and trying to climb over pretty much any fence, wall or access point they could find.

Yes, it seemed Jo Kuffour was determined to keep us up all by himself, as Shipperly huffed and puffed alongside him. The game was really up though once Fitzgerald was given the job after leading us on a stunning run of three defeats and a draw during his caretaker tenure.

200 to 300 got into the family section. Police said we can’t throw you out, behave. On the way home my 4 year old asked me what w—-ker meant. As the Cardiff supporters had been calling the ref it all game. His mum was not happy

Blimey! You have an impressive memory. I can't even remember what division we were in.

Goal F on here (you have to watch R**lands in a bees shirt again). It's been cropped by the club but has most of it.

Thank you HB, I really appreciate you taking the time to put up the link and it's great to see the goal again, though my memory of the build up has been affected by time. The feelings of that goal and game are hard wired into me, going to always love GP :sorted::bees:

Strange that there was a Goal of the Season competition but no Goal A.

Thanks a lot for this Houghton Bee. Mansfield at home 1998 was my first ever game, seeing the highlights there really took me back. I would have been an 8 year old, with my dad in the Ealing road. Then we went to Halifax the following week, not such a great experience :D

I think HH had started the run, passed to the chap with the ball which is where the clip starts, and then been given it back for the shot.
