Why ?
A premier away game when you in league 2 is a great day out.
What are you smoking! I very much doubt any Oldham fan was excited when they saw who they drew in the next round. A long midweek drive in the rush hour against the most unglamorous PL team and very slim chance of beating (we hope!). It’s not attractive at all which is why I said I’d be surprised if they brought half what FGR did. I’d also be surprised if the crowd tops 5 figures.

I take it you have never travelled to a northern outpost on a cold, wet and windy Tuesday night to watch us play out a 0-0 bore draw and then reach home at 3am before getting up at 7am to go to work the next day. A trip to London with 'posh' shops and a gleaming new stadium is luxury for some.

You're lucky, I didn't get home till 4am then had to try and sleep on a cold floor, then get up at 6am and polish everyone's shoes before going up cleaning chimneys. Some people don't know they've been born!

I’m sure the vast majority of OAFC fans would give up visiting our new stadium in return for saving a 360 mile round trip which would cost a lot where I’m sure not many would rate their chances of progression. Hate to say it but yes to most other teams we are unglamorous! Ok you could include 5 or 6 others in the PL but the point is this game isn’t an attractive proposition for OAFC fans! If they bring more than FGR I’d be genuinely surprised.

To be fair no not many times, and that’s because it has no appeal!!! I very much doubt any OAFC fan will be taking in a trip to Harrods before the match!

Sure and they have absolutely no pressure on them and are expected to lose. I’m sure their players are looking forward to it and it’s actually a shop window potentially if any of them can turn on the style. Anyway we shall soon see how many of their fans travel.

When we were in the lower leagues these were precisely the sorts of cup draw I’d immediately write off as of little interest. Mid/low PL clubs who’d be likely to be too good to give us much of a chance but also not an exciting giant killing if we won. Add in the long away journey midweek and if the roles were reversed (as they might have been in the early 90s) I’d have been nowhere near loyal enough to have bothered.

You do it to support your team , no appeal indeed.
Thank god loads of us over the years have made the effort to support the boys at Carlisle , Oldham away etc.
Following Brentford away has been the best times of my life and the reward of the last few years in champ and now the prem has made me all the more proud to have done it.
Your post makes me feel sad.

Blimey are you ok, do you want some rope! Of course every fan is different and personally if this was away to OAFC I wouldn’t be going which I’m sure the vast majority of others Bees would agree. I’m just stating from an Oldham fans view I don’t see away to us as being attractive, of course their die hard core support will travel I’m just saying I don’t expect many to. Sorry if I’ve offended you Nick!!!

I would not necessarily agree that they were the most appealing but certainly many were memorable in a variety of different ways! Sometimes, a visit to ANY premier league club can be a welcome distraction when you are bottom of the football league pile.

Oldham will have a decent London support base, these fans will make the effort to go to a new ground.
Also, with all the demonstrations aimed at their owners, coming to a Premier League ground will highlight their case if they make themselves known.

Spoke to 4 Oldham lads and lasses on the train back from Euston on Saturday night ( they had been to Orient). They were up for this and were driving down. Didn’t seem to think to many others would though.
I said good on ya and hope you have a good day but obvs not so good that they actually win.

Where were you when we were sh*t?

Loads of us on here went to mid-week Freight Rover/its latest incarnation games at places like Oldham year in, year out 🤓

Looks like Oldham might be close to selling out their allocation and have asked for more.

Decent effort by OAFC fans.

Although there's always plenty of exiled fans resident in London to boost 'away' numbers v sides from the Capital.

Can't imagine the Oldham Branch of Bees Supporters Club would have similar numbers as their London branch.....

Don’t point that stick at me mister, I went to numerous sh*t games albeit mostly at GP. Any clubs hardcore support will go to any meaningless games but that’s not exactly my point is it?

Good chance they will be relegated this season so a chance to play a premier league team in a new stadium will have some appeal, before non league beckons. Have herd the owners have made it difficult for them to protest at home games banning banners and flags ect. Also only season ticket holders into games can see them bringing a few and targeting this game as a big protest. Sad really decent enough club just sh£t owners.

Followed the instruction to print at home and it says this ticket is not printable and I've just realised I paid £2.50 postage

I have the same message. I had booked x2 tickets at the same time as purchasing West Ham tickets so had to pay the postage.

Both of my purchased Oldham tickets say 'not available for printing'...?

I can no longer make the game so if anyone wants a ticket for free let me know and I can e-mail it to you.
It's in Block W234 Row 28.

I'd happily to take it for a friend as mine, as that's the same block as me.

Thought their ticket article said no pay on the day. They had until 3pm today to buy their tickets.

Went to buy an extra seat today and saw this unusual term used to ask me to pick another...I did.... An orphan seat!

Poor forward planning on my part means I have to miss tomorrow’s game. Currently on a 4 day break in the Isle of Wight. Mrs. Jd won’t countenance cutting it short. I’ve tried bribery and cajolery. Nothing doing. 😦
