EFL Championship SkyBet Player of the Year 2019/2020

Brentford striker Ollie Watkins has been awarded the prestigious Sky Bet Championship Player of the Season after an impressive campaign for the Bees. The 24-year-old scored 26 goals in total during the extended 2019/20 season, Brentford's best in generations. He started every league game as The Bees finished third in the Sky Bet Championship and he helped fire Brentford into the Play-Off Final with his formidable attacking prowess and eye for goal.

Absolutely deserved. This man is everything a modern player should be. He is never injured. He runs and runs and runs. He does his defensive duties. He's a credit to the club with his community work (e.g. Woody).

He deserves everything he will get. Proud that he is a Brentford player.

Oh, and definitely not a dickhead.

Who'd have thought he'd been spending his entire career out of position until August 2019
Top rewards for a top player and a top top human being

And definitely should help stick a couple of milllion on to his price

Brilliant - well done Ollie, absolutely deserved. Shows how far we have come as a club in the last decade that we have the best player outside PL (and better than a lot in PL as well) - kudos to the coaching staff too as they have turned a winger into a 25 goal striker in one preseason.

Well done and well deserved.

Having had the pleasure to meet him in person he's a credit to himself, his family and our club.

Like Nana says, deserves all the success and wealth that's going to come his way in the future.

Fully agree Banana, as much as he is a great player on the pitch he is a great ambassador for Brentford FC and football in general off the pitch. The way he conducts himself is second to none and he deserves everything that comes his way. In an age where there are so many dickheads in the game he stands out like a shining diamond.

As you say so proud that he is one of ours, he is a massive credit to the game.

Until this season, I had always felt he was underperforming and could achieve so much more. Well, credit to him as he's been outstanding this season. I thought Neal had upped his game in his second season, but Ollie has improved his all-round game way beyond what I'd ever thought possible. Big credit to the coaching staff too, who must have been doing some intensive work on him. Congratulations Ollie.

I said at the time, his performance in the Swansea semi final second leg was the best by an individual Bees player in the 40+ years I've been watching.

He shut me up good and proper as after watching his first few games I thought he was a million miles away from being a number 9. Astonishing turn around, a very special player who is team first in everything he does.
I remember being at Bramall Lane for his bees debut when he came on as sub, you could tell straight away he had all the tools to go all the way, it’ll be full deserved.
Hopefully Mr Toney will see this and think a season with us could springboard him into the upper echelons of the Premier League.

Me too. I had feared he would turn into another Theo Walcott i.e. fine playing out wide, but just doesn't have it to play through the middle. How wrong I was.

Astonishing turn around, a very special player who is team first in everything he does.
.
Credit to him for his talent and commitment, credit to all the guys at GP who've helped him make the most of those attributes.

Yes, it was even in the club's story.

Anyway, those ****ers at Sky has stolen my drone footage to cover Oli's interview. I have sent an invoice to cover my annoyance.

Having watched his player of the year video on the clubs youtube channel i dont think i noticed before how fond ollie is of abit of sh*thousing himself. Perhaps Neal taught him a thing or two during their time together
