Ollie was brilliant last season no one can take that away from him, he took to the strikers role like a duck to water
Very sad to see him leave but it was on the cards when we failed to win promotion.
Can only wish him well for the future and say the transfer fee was about right

In the shed.
I wish him well. Villa supporters will have great expectations but he is not the Messiah. I hope they give him a season to get his eye in

Emphatic theatrical header, but he was completely unmarked.

As there have been no postings since the move, was a transfer of @exeter fan to Villa Talk included as part of the deal?

it would take more than £28m for me to transfer from Brentford to Villa!

I think all I would want to say on OW has been said by others including the announcement on Exeter’s website

of course, like all Brentford fans it is disappointing that he has to leave but so so pleased for so many people that he has made such a success of his career so far. The list is endless, but I particularly think of the story of Ollie at 12/13 at the training ground, where meals are served and cooked by volunteers. One volunteer was so impressed by Ollie‘s attitude demeanour and politeness that he said ‘if you ever get a professional contract, I will be your sponsor’. He has come a long way since then.

So for both Exeter and Brentford the cycle starts again. Three academy graduates made their full debuts in Saturday’s league game. One was a winger who scored with a header. I wonder whether he could be switched to play down the middle? You would be very welcome to come and take a look!

Missed a couple of sitters tonight.
I’d be fuming if they were in a Bees shirt!

Gone straight into my fantasy team - hoping for big things from him. Looked a bit serious when he scored, hope he doesn't lose his smile over the coming weeks.

Hope that Toney was watching tonight, and saw Ollie’s goal.
That’s where Toney needs to be, living in the 6 yard box.

Villa seemed very nonchalant about celebrating their goals.

i would have thought that Ollie would have got more congrats. from his team mates.

3 ex-Brentford in Villa squad v Burton - Watkins, Jota and Konsa.

It was essentially a pre-season game for them though, and against Burton. If he scores this weekend they'll celebrate a lot more.

And I think Toney knows how to score...it's why we signed him.

From that friendly on Saturday - what feels like a quintessential Watkins goal.
Watch his movement first for the switch cross hes moving between the 2 CBs in case it wasnt a switch and a cross into the box.

Then the same movement in the opposite direction for the goal.

Sign of a lad who will score bundles in the right side.

Same movement as Hogan but hopefully Villa play to his strengths.

Turns out he’s quicker than John Egan.

Feel sorry for him. With B & M he knew exactly who was doing what and where. At Villa, Trézéguet’s all over the shop, getting in his way.

Unlucky not to score with a shot that looked like it was heading into the top corner towards the end - once Grealish realises he can actually pass the ball instead of trying to score he will score a dozen plus IMHO

Ollie just needs time to adapt, It was like watching Toney with us, both will come good eventually.
