We support a fantastic football club who do 95% of things the right way and have generally been a joy to follow in recent years. We could have the misfortune to be supporters of one of the so called 'big' clubs who are currently happily selling their own fans and the rest of football down the river.. As good a time as any to take stock of what we actually have here...

Well said. And has been my exact thoughts today. In fact I've had a Chelsea fan tell me he might adopt Brentford as his team now as he absolutely hates the plans. I told him to join us and mentioned that we're owned by a childhood fan off the club.

We have something really good here...

Now that we are realistically out of the top 2 race before the last few games, it is impossible for me to feel as depressed as I did last year after first the Barnsley game, then the Fulham defeat. I will therefore look on the POs with no expectations whatsoever, so anything better will be a massive bonus.

Yeah, half the statement is the positive comment and half isn't 😂 Take your pick which.

we'll always score at least the first pen in any pen shoot-out with Toney

I'm disappointed we haven't stayed in the top two to join the so called elite but when I read some of the utter sh*te posted on Twitter and sadly here, I remember several things. I have been supporting this wonderful club for a few months shy of fifty effin years! The first 42 saw a few promotions, an equal number of relegations, a few cup shocks and much garbage all of which I loved.
The last eight years will have seen a promotion, four play off appearances and a major cup semi final. It has also seen some absolutely sublime football at times. Perspective is required ladies and gentlemen ( and all the juveniles on Twitter calling for Frank out!).
Maybe it's time for some to piss off and 'support' a bigger team! Meanwhile I will hopefully continue to enjoy another thirty years or so God willing , preferably in a stadium rather than on the tv.
You effin Beeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssszzzzz!!!!!

We’ll beat muff over 2 legs and score a 97th minute dubious penalty to beat Swansea in the playoff final.

Our PO record means we go into them very much in the wild card sense. Swansea have creaked too often and are losing games, Barnsley are one-trick ponies who we can beat with our present formation and Bournemouth may be on a run at the moment but look at us last season. Time for some resting of players and positional tweaking in the last four games - particularly at Bournemouth to give them something to think about. Maybe we shake off the past, new ground new mentality etc.? Still think that there might be one more window of opportunity for automatic...... small though.

We could be promoted without the play-offs if the Premier League grow some cojones and expel the JPM six.

Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Southend and Fulham are all on the verge of getting relegated.

Having lost 2 of our best players for circa 55 million big ones - and fans still moan when we only draw....
Absolutely. I said this in the Rotherham match thread. Not only did we lose our 2 best players but we’ve also had injuries to Pontus, Rico, Dalsgaard, Norgaard and JDS.

When you take into account that the only 2 teams above us have pocketed £150m in TV money and parachute payments in the last 18 months and 1 of them forked out circa £30m on one player, it really has been a good season.

Quite remarkable really when you also take into account that only Toney of the front 3 has been anywhere near consistent this season added to injuries to key players and it still looks like we will top last seasons points tally with BMW

If we played with last season’s personnel the way we have this season we’d have been comfortably promoted automatically. The combination of much improved organisation and difficulty to beat plus the extra magic of Said would have been just too much. A real credit to TF and the boys to match it in a much tougher division than last year’s (Watford better than WBA, Bournemouth better than Fulham, Swansea better than last season, Barnsley much better than Cardiff, Reading much better than Forest, lots of quality lower down the division like Blackburn and Luton, even bottom end teams being no mugs).

No, no, no, haven't you heard, this was a really weak division this year, even weaker than last year which was the weakest division ever.

Thomas has some big decisions to make in the coming weeks, especially for the Play Off’s
1) who partners Toney , Mbeumo or Forss
2) back three, as per last night or Jansson for Sorensen
3) Fosu or Canos

Glad it’s not my call

Couldn't be happier. The squad are now in a really good place. We've got over our little bump in the road. We're looking as solid as we have defensively in years, regardless of personnel, we're looking much more of a threat going forward. Toney's got the 30 up, Canos is looking like a man possessed, Mbeumo looks happy and confident, Forss has got over his little lean period, everyone looks up for it, even Jensen smashed one into the net today (sadly disallowed for what I don't know). We've secured third place for the second year running despite all that's gone against us. If ever there was a position and state of mind to be in going into the play offs with, then this is it....

It does feel different this time, Mr C.
Normally when we reach the Play Offs, we’re too knackered, out of form, or the squad’s too thin to win. Occasionally, all three. This year, none of those apply, so a brand new excuse would be needed....

They're a bit of a lottery, 3 games to go up and anything can happen in any of those which could derail us. We saw that last year away at Swansea and we've seen it so many times over the years with us and other teams. We're in as good a position as we can be though so who knows??

6 more points than last season. We can only measure our progress against ourselves and we have accumulated 6 additional points.

Hopefully we can make it count in the playoffs.

Another record breaking season since our return to the Championship. Off the top of my head -
Toney (obviously)
Top scorers, apart from Norwich
Least defeats (7)
Most away wins (12)
Sergi’s most goals in a season (10?)
There may be a couple more that escape me at the moment...

What an absolutely brilliant season. Our highest number of points, cup semi final and third place again. This amongst a backdrop of a pandemic, often three matches a week and countless injuries. Yes I would have liked to have got top two- played more free flowing football at times, and most importantly been there ( more than the once). But overall, massive credit to Thomas and the players!
I pray for fortune this time in the play offs but whatever happens, I can't wait until next season.
It's been a sh*t year. Covid, my Mum dying last week, and for the majority of it, one of the few things to make me smile was the Bees!!!! Thank you.

Oops! I did say ‘off the top of my head’...
We only scored 1 less than last season and only conceded 4 more.

Considering the loss of Ollie and Said and Bryan not hitting the same heights, not to mention the many defensive changes this season, I think we’ve done remarkably well.
