Lol , more of a drawn out session eek
Because we are getting far more rumour of outgoing players. Hardly any incoming rumours or signings.
Toney , Goode and Ghoddos ( hopefully) In and only ow out . Said may go too but we all knew those 2 would

Probably because we’ve only had one first team said player of note leave (who’s been replaced) and probably only to follow (who’s about to be replaced).

Don’t forget we also strengthened squad with Baptiste and Fosu in January.

Also Jeanvier, Mokotjo, Valencia, Karelis

Don’t think we’re in bad shape at the moment, especially if Ghoddos comes in, but would rather it shut now, no one else comes in, and we keep the likes of Raya, Henry, Benrahma

Would still like us to add 1-2 others.

Five out then, and only three in so on that basis two more to come. But we did have three in in January, and only one out so maybe we are level with where we are. Not straightforward when we count them all out, and then count them all in! I am confused because I have remembered two out on loan so does that now mean two more to come in? Then what about the B Team? Perhaps I should leave it and just see what happens.

We need a few more . Another wide player should be Ghoddos,a cover defence mid and another right back . Ghoddos wound also give cover as a forward

I think you need to look at how many games the players that left actually played for the first team.

karelis- about 20 minutes
Kamo- a handful of appearances and has been upgraded to Baptiste
Yearwood- a couple of cup games
JJ- stood in when Pontus was injured, has been upgraded to Goode.
Watkins- replaced by Toney and the return from loan of Forss
When SB leaves- replaced by Fosu and possibly Ghoddos.

I think we have a bigger and more in depth squad than last year so am not expecting any more to join over the above mentioned.

I wouldn't tie yourselves in knots lads - there's only so many players you can have before you're paying decent money for very little contribution.

We have:

GK - Raya, Daniels, Balcombe

RB - Dalsgaard, Roerslev

LB - Rico, DomThom

CB - Pontus, Ethan, Goode, Mads Bech

CM - Norgaard, JDS, Marcondes, Jensen, Baptiste, Zamburek

Wingers - Mbeumo, Canos, Fosu, Dervisoglu, Ghoddos 🤞

CF - Toney, Forssy

With B team lads as "if x, y AND z get injured" cover.

Our budget is still relatively limited. We just can't get four proven quality players for each position - it'd lead to players kicking their heels for good money, while young talent won't get a chance to come through. I know the temptation is to get "all the good players" - but it's not realistic.

Backup for Norgaard looks the most glaring issue, but I think they think various others in our CM rotation could "do a job" there, or we revert to 3x CB's for a while, etc...

Otherwise... Not many holes in that squad.

also by signing too many ‘first teamers’ you start blocking the path from the B team which is a very important piece of the long term strategy! I’d imagine we’ll see the young Danish lad we signed a few weeks back making cameos for the first team as the season progresses

I’d argue that a RB is also a semi priority

If you're talking Bidstrup he's crocked I believe for 6 months.

3 months for Roerslov. Think a short term loan more likely.

No such thing as a short-term loan now, it would be till the New Year at least. Roerslev back in November.

Stick Fin Stevens in against West Brom, that's what I'd do on Football Manager, bloody Frank don't know his arse from his elbow...

(Or Canos or Rico with Thompson at LB or 3 at the back adapt etc)

Quite

The only player without an obvious ready replacement is Norgaard. But as it took at least 5 years to get him as a bona fide beast of a CDM it is more likely that we’d prepare to rejig the team’s set up if he was out for an extended period than to be looking to slot in a like for like replacement (though if one could be found he’d be snapped up).

That's what I meant, a loan to January, but like you say Sergi can cover that if needed.

I’d agree, Norgaard definitely the one without anything close to a like for like replacement in he squad

We are going to need cover for Norgaard if he keeps getting bookings at the current rate

Depends upon how long Roerslev our for . Surprised we haven’t brought in someone in central midfield given we have met both Mokotjo and Yearwood go although they may see Zamburek as a real contender for one of the more advanced midfield roles this year

The cover for Norgaard is injured or on loan at AFC. It’s tricky because we don’t want to block development as others have said. But this is where I would try and bring in someone

I think we're fine in midfield apart from cover for Norgaard. 2 from DaSilva, Jensen, Marcondes, Baptiste and Zamburek is pretty good in my book, however we REALLY do need cover for Christian as I can't see any of the other midfielders taking on his role successfully. It's a real shame about Bidstrup as it seemed like they thought he would be challenging for first team pretty quickly and he'd gone straight into training with the 1st team. Otherwise if we bring in Ghoddos as expected then we're more than covered, in fact you'd think that perhaps players like Dervisoglu might be looking for loans out to get game time..
