What was he meant to do !? I quite liked the little walk around, even it was far from polished, it was decent enough. The only complaint apart from the lack of stream was the changing of the camera angles !

I liked it too. The computer simulations were helpful but it was quite nice getting live video in real life from around the ground. The seating seems quite steeply banked compared to GP so you don’t have to be too many rows back to be well above pitch level and have a decent view.

Pitch and ground looked great. I’m a bit concerned what the pitch will be like after a few games of rugby. Hopefully we won’t regret groundsharing.

Agreed. At least it's some content and some sight of our new stadium which we have STILL not been able to see in all its glory.

Stu Wakeford is employed by the club now and the output has improved vastly since then. Especially in the video editing.

He's aware of the issues today, and I'm sure "things can only get better"

Encouraging. Loved the acoustic in the ground. No comment needed on the broadcast sound continuity.. Who should take penalties in Saids absence? Bryan? Nørgaard?

Enjoyed it. Had to go out just as Oxford got their first. I thought we looked far superior up until we were two up. Impressed with Thompson. Ground looked great but a little concerned about how the pitch seemed to cut up a bit. Rugby may be a bugger!
Camera work awful !
Can't wait to get in there though!!

More upset by the distracting yellow seats, rather than a stadium full of red and black and white.

If when we get there, and your seat happens to be yellow, can you scuff it up a bit or take a small tin of red paint to cover it at the end of the match!

Club Shop should stock up on large red carrier bags to slip over the seat backs....

If you exclude the omissions of OW and SB as we expect them to depart, we were without Jansson, Dalsgaard, Raya, Dasilva, Norgaard and Mbeumo from the starting lineup. That’s the entire spine of our team and some.

But we were still easily the better team until all of the subs. I think we can be fairly pleased with that, as they are absolutely no walkovers. We perhaps should have scored more goals but were also unlucky with hitting the woodwork, having one ruled out and missing and pen.

Once we had made a lot of changes you could see the momentum change.

Having to use the likes of Balcombe, O’Connor, Hammar, Maghoma etc. all at once without some of those senior heads around them was probably stretching the squad too thin - hope it doesn’t come to that vs Wycombe.

That’s not to criticise any one player too heavily. As we’ve seen before these are all talented youngsters that can slot into the first team individually but once you start making wholesale changes you can be punished as there’s a lack of cohesion.

I think most of the missing players today will still be on Internaational duty in Sunday

Paris looked good when he came on, got caught on the ball once but other than that he was taking it off the back 4 and pushing forward looking to pass into feet.

My first thought was who the heck is this bloke.

We have got some real talent on the fringes.

Indeed. Listening to Robinson on the Oxford site, you’ll be hard pressed to think he hadn’t played our best team.

Highlights no, but you can watch most of the match on their Youtube, including the pre-match 'tour'.

I think that it should be regarded as encouraging, and showed that we have more in depth as a squad.

Considering certain players missing, new players coming in, younger players getting some minutes, lots to be satisfied with, particularly as most players never having played in the various changing combinations over 90 minutes.

So absolutely the wrong time and moment to criticise anyone, instead notice the positives.

There are no black seats. They’re dark green

Have to say that was extremely disappointing, had 48 minutes of looking at a red screen and then only getting a total of 22 minutes of the first half, enjoyed the walkabout by Stu and the stadium looked amazing, shame that i'll never get to see it in the "flesh ".

Stadium looked great, despite the vast numbers of yellow seats.

Thought Fosu and Baptiste looked good at times, but I’m slightly concerned about the lack of depth in our squad..... I’d be disappointed if any of the XI that finished the game yesterday, were in the starting line up against Birmingham.

You're concerned about squad depth? Some of those were third string players. We only started the match with four first teamers as far as I can tell, and they were more than good enough.

The B teamers who played yesterday are way off being first team so wouldn’t worry about that. I think we’re pretty close to a very strong squad. Bring back all the players on international duty and it looks pretty good. Good to see Thompson looking a better fit. For me we need to find another winger (To replace Benhrama.. simple!!) and a defensive/box to box midfielder to rotate with Norgaard. Depending on roerslevs injury we may well need another RB as there’s no way Dalsgaard should (or could) play every game this season..

Stadium looks fantastic - had a walk around the outside last Friday. Really impressive and gave me goosebumps!

Felt sorry for Stu and the coverage side of things, it will be sorted no doubt. The in-ear mic was picking up way too much noise from him. Commentary on game was fine. Shame we lost the feed - these things happen!

As for the game (what i saw) it was a good game. Canos really shouldn't have taken the penalty, Forss was taking and scoring pens for AFC Wimbledon. I get why but he needed to separate personal goals from the team goals (literally). However he more than made amends with two great goals, the second was a really great finish. Really didn't expect to see Toney out there!

We made some changes and things started getting a bit sloppy;

First goal, Thompson is in a really odd position and i think tired legs and mind got to him here, absolutely should be getting back inside his man again. Ellery puts it into a bad area but it's a decent finish.

The second one is so poor from two B team players, neither really being aggressive enough to take charge. Not 100% what Goode is going for either, Balcombe maybe could have been covering the area better too?

On the pitch - v promising, the last ten minutes aside. Off the pitch - lot of work to do. Not convinced by the boy wandering around the stadium with a sceptical Marcus in tow. Unnecessary. When Sky have three commentators and five pundits and Jamie Carragher roaming about I find it obscurely annoying, so when we do it... please don't bother.
It's quite clearly a one time thing to show off a new stadium. Also, if you don't like 'the boy' - don't watch the start and just tune in for the game? Harmless.

Fosu/Canos - Toney/Forss - Mbeumo/Valencia
Marcondes/Jensen - Norgaard - Dasilva/Baptiste
Henry/Thompson - Jansson/Goode - Pinnock/Sorensen - Dalgaard/Roerslev
Raya/Daniels.

Aside from Norgaard, and possibly the fullbacks, we have decent depth this season. Two for every position and most of those could slot in without weakening us. Goode I definitely need to see more of.

Yesterday's lineup did look weak after a while (though with so many away that's understandable), and the quality of our bench did concern me at points last season, but I think we've added some good options in there. Fosu/Baptiste definitely makes our squad stronger and gives it much better depth.

Those are the next two on the list! Halil has tenacity I like and I think Zamburek will be a really good player. Halil I still think is a bit early though, but will get more minutes as the season goes on.

They are also 2 wildcards in terms of positions - as they could possibly fill a number of different slots across the middle and front

I wouldn't be surprised if Zamburek goes out on loan until January if we get someone in as back-up for Norgaard, and once the League Cup is out the way

I would like to think Sergi is in the starting 11 to be honest

Was working so missed most of it. How did Maghoma do? I have liked what little I have seen of him prior to this game. Got back just in time to see Oxford's goals. From what I saw, Maghoma looked comfortable and confident on the ball, and seemed to be demanding it, which is good. However, he got caught in possession to start a move which ultimately brought Oxford a goal. What did I miss?

Maghoma is a very good technical midfielder but lacks some physicality and a bit of tactical nouse. He came on after the subs and had very little experience around him to cover him, as such these weaknesses were exposed. He needs to play against men for the B team as much as possible this season IMO.
